This isn’t entirely true. By working you add value to the system. More workers doesn’t equal inflation so long as they are all working jobs that increase net wealth of the system (with them getting a cut of the net wealth, and the corporation getting the other cut) this is capitalism in a nutshell, and the reason we all drastically improved qualities of life compared to 300 years ago, more and more wealth being constantly added to the system.
The reason wages have gone to shit and people require dual incomes now is illegal immigration. There’s a massive surplus of workers and companies no longer need to pay competitive wages. As companies are no longer fighting for workers. As a result women have to join the labor force, exacerbating the problem.

I think that is somewhat over stating things, but I do see what you are getting at. The post-war era during the '50s and into the '60s was when most of what we consider "modern conveniences" exploded onto the scene, including things like washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, vacuums, television, radio etc. It was also when the modern highway systems started being built, especially in the U.S.A. Which is also when the automobile really took off in popularity. Medicine also was developing by leaps and bounds during this period. Even the computer was a product of WWII, it was developed alongside the development of the atomic bomb. WWII (and to a lesser extent, WWI, though I think it could be argued that WWI mostly produced the tech for WWII) basically produced most of our modern technology and thus, the modern age. It is astounding to see how much technology developed from pre WWI to post WWII. The difference in aircraft is probably the most stunning example of this. In 1914 small aircraft were made out of wood frames with wire bracing and a thin aluminum skin and usually had fabric covering the rear section, and were prop driven with rotary engines. By the end of WWII in 1945 they had jet fighters, massive bombers, and stealth was in development. The first modern jet powered airliner was also developed in this time. In just 30 years!
All of this meant that people ended up having a lot more free time on their hands, and I think that is what lead to the rise of Feminism. Women all of the sudden had very little actual work to do at home, especially when the kids were at school, meanwhile men still had to actually go to work and earn a living for the family. Though perhaps not as much as before the War.
