TL;DR: I tried to do something nice and I got huge volley of shit tests in return.

Background: I'm only a few weeks into MRP. Read: MMSLP, NMMNG, currently on WISNIFG.

August was an exceptional month, because we had sex 5 (!!!) times, which is way above our long term average (July was 0).

Now we're in the PMS+Shark week, so it's going to be hopeless for ~10 days (actually got a hard no for today). But to celebrate this major achievement I decided to do something nice for my wife and cook breakfast: Gordon Ramsay's scrambled eggs, down to the sautéed tomatoes on the vine.

Yesterday evening I went shopping on my way home from work. Arrive with the ingredients, first shit test:

  • "Next time you go to the store, you should ask first, because we have plenty of crème fraîche and tomatoes at home!"
  • This morning, as I'm doing the cooking, she points with her hand disapprovingly, basically gesturing: "Look at all the water you got on MY steel counter!"
  • When I serve it: "Ooh, let me take a picture of this HISTORICAL moment!"

Afterwards, as I'm doing the dishes:

  • "NO, that scrub is not for that! NO!! That's not for doing that either! They all have their special purpose! [That you idiot, wouldn't understand.]"
  • Me: "So what can I use to scrub this?"
  • Her: "... SEE?! THIS is why we don't use that kind of pan for eggs."
  • Me: "Oh really?" (smiling, since I used the same pan as Gordon Ramsey in his fucking video)
  • Her: "What do you MEAN 'Oh really?'! Why our you smiling? Do you know how DEMEANING it is?! Answer to me!"

(This went on for 15 minutes until I kissed her and left for work.)

I'm still new to this and try my best to maintain the IDGAF / amused mastery in these situations. One of the trickiest parts is that now I expect and understand the shit tests much better and when they do come I can barely stop myself from grinning like an idiot. :)

She does seem to get very upset about it, because it's different from my usual past responses which was mostly apologizing and staying the fuck out of the kitchen.
