The simple answer is we don't know.

Between 2 and 10 percent of rape allegations are proven true in a legal sense, between 2 and 10 percent are proven false that leaves between 80 and 96 percent where there is no definitive answer.

Any study is going to rely on self reporting, which for something like this is going to be unreliable. It's not a satisfying answer but it's really the only one that's truthful.

People lie a lot. Dating apps like Tea are full of false allegations, including screenshots of women admitting they’re lying to get back at men they don’t like for one reason or another.

Read any recent book about how the criminal justice system, mass incarceration, and for-profit prisons work to see how ghastly and prevalent false accusations are.

There have been many, many studies going back decades, replicated over and over, that show large percentages of women admitting to and justifying false allegations. A few of them are cited below:

Only 2-10% of accusations are proven completely true, as well.

The rest are a grey area of "he said/she said", which means it can go anywhere from 90/10 in either direction to 50/50 (which is most likely the case if we project the ratio from known data).

Just watch Youtube body cam videos of women being arrested by police. I'd say well over 50% of them start screaming that they've been touched or abused at some point in the interaction. Those are false allegations and are definitely not recorded in the "claimed" 2%

They think cause some successful people managed to get away with (even though most of them weren't found guilty criminally, and only civilly) for some reason whya re famous people accused of grape after they were famous? Specially when most of the time the accusation apparently took place prior to then becoming famous.

I wish I had more evidence than anecdotal. But every guy has seen a video, or experienced himself, or had a friend who has experienced a woman using the threat of crying rape as a cudgel to get what she wants. To coerce behavior. Because even an unsubstantiated allegation is enough to completely ruin a man's life - job, social circle, everything. And men know this.

Nobody knows how high the actual number is. But the idea that it's only 2% is so ludicrous it doesn't even come close to passing the sniff test. My guess is it's probably more like 20%. There are no negative consequences for it, so it's not seen as a big deal, which is part of why I think women use it as a get out of jail free card in situations where they regret a hookup. If it were something women could get in serious trouble for, I suspect the false allegation rate would be much lower. But it's not.

Its just how rare false allegations was been RECORDED, not how often its been made. Just like if you take police reports - women are more likely to be beaten up, but its OBVIOUS bullshit because 99.9% of male victims of physical abuses are NOT report for this into police because of its useless and shameful for men. literally 100% boys and men was beaten up, like with hard bruises and blood at leas once, but percent of reports of it is just hilariously low, yet girls and women in other hand report most of beating even MUCH less harmful, so yea, "statistically" by reports women are beaten much more often then men, but in reality and its obvious even for feminists (who will yell majority of its by meeeen its doesnt cooount, yet female circumcision what 100% of it was done by other women somehow counts tho) that EVERY SINGLE boy and men was faced serious physical beating at least once in their life (and more likely dozen of times), and i dont even talking about sexual violence what is NOT considered as sexual violence - assaults on groin area, and its not considering as sexual violence ONLY because there is tabu to hit there women and women not affected, so thats why its "not" sexual and serious. Its double standards of society we live.

Here is my 2 cents.

When you start with lawyers suggesting the silver bullet solution to a divorce, it doesn't take much for somebody to take the easy road. Accusation = man is guilty and has to prove that he is innocent beyond any doubt. He will be lucky if she moves out, and doesn't lock him out of his own house and involve the police with accusations of him being violent, threatening her life...etc. More extreme cases include a woman staging the man to be accused of assault, adultery, or even worse.

Add to it that if the kids are involved, the man will find himself in front of the social services, who will treat him like a threat, without ever giving the reason or the content of the accusation. They are very often riddled with feminists of both sexes, who will automatically believe the woman, provide no information to the man why his kids are gone and treat him like a threat.

His kid / kids can be signed out of the school they went to, transferred to a different school, hidden behind the walls of bureaucracy, and he can be cut off for months before he sees them. This is where the man experiences he is a parent only formally, on the paper. The reality is completely different. All the while, the mother will have access to the kids 24/7 and all the time in the world to weaponize the kids against the father. He might get to see his kids under supervision, where the talk is moderated...etc. This creates additional tension and such a brutal depression, that it literally pushes the man to start the divorce in hope to get the record straight.

After spending a lot of money on lawyers, he will very probably be court-raped, which is a pretty accurate description of taking a hatchet to his earnings, his pension-funds...etc. It goes according to percentages and it is brutal. His hard work over decades will be financially punished. He might even be asked to motivate his wife to find a job, if she is currently not working. On top of that, he will get some shitty deal when it comes to seeing his kids, like every other weekend.

All this shows you how the deck is stacked against the man. It sure does encourage women to do everything they can to get the upper hand and put the man in a situation where it is extremely hard to defend their status.

The lawyers who propose the silver bullet have the deepest level of hell reserved for them. In my opinion, they should be thrown out of the practice for good.

If you think that this is a figment of my imagination, please do read what men go through the divorce and try to find an ex judge, a lawyer who worked with fathers or a man who went through a divorce and ask them about their experiences in the court. I did.

There is a reason people have to be proven guilty, rather than not guilty. Are you asking for proof that women do this?

There have been YouTube compilations full of women on video doing it. There is the Tea app and AWDTSG full of women doing it. There are celebrity cases like Aziz Ansari, Johnny Depp, various lead singers, etc.

But there are only going to be so many concrete examples. There are anecdotes stories of women falsely accusing, or threatening to, every hour of the day. There are thousands more of exaggerated circumstances.

It’s more like a choice not to consider that at least some of these daily stories aren’t real.

Very simple. In some places, like Brazil for instance, the law the governs DV does not apply to men being victims. So they don’t even go to the police. So when you count the number of cases of DV, surprise surprise, only women are victims!

It depends on what you mean by false allegations. If you mean a legal claim of purposely accusing someone falsely, yeah, probably around 2%. If you mean a social claim of purposefully accusing someone, then that would be much higher. If you mean a false, vague claim that implicates no one, it's even higher.

They are rare.

People in this sub seem to believe that a not guilty verdict = false allegation, a misidentification = false allegation etc. That isn't the case legally, a false allegation in a legal sense refers to a false allegation knowingly made by the accuser, it is not a false allegation if the defendant is simply found not guilty or if the accuser was not aware that they had accused the wrong person i.e misidentification.
