There was recently outrage here in the UK when a Police website had "know your limits, being heavily intoxicated can impair your judgement and increase your chances of sexual assault" so they had to remove it. It's in the same vein really.

I have woken up next to girl a few times after a night out with little recollection of how we ended up in bed. Did I unknowingly commit date rape? or did they?

Besides, isn't "date rape" when you intentionally drug or intoxicate someone with express purpose of violating them? How can you do it unknowingly?

The amount of mental gymnastics necessary in order to perform a feat like this..is astounding. In the same breath that they render all intoxicated women incapable of giving consent, they, in-turn, they inflate male agency to hyperbolic proportions. Consent and responsibility are two sides of the same coin...so what this poster is trying to do is, in effect, change the definition of rape (in this context) to be unidirectional, when it is not.

I'm frightened by the way this stuff contaminates the jury pool. I remember one military Redditor stating that he encountered one juror that stated he could not vote to acquit (even if the guy was factually and legally innocent) if the accuser had alcohol in her system. It had just been drilled into him to much during training.

If you have sex with a girl who has been drinking you can be convicted of rape. If she presses charges and the DA is at all feminist you will probably be charged. Many jurors will convict you on little evidence. If you hook up with a drunk girl the only thing standing between you and your life being destroyed is her morals. The vast majority of women won't abuse this since it is an obviously evil thing to do. However if she is brainwashed into thinking she has been raped she will charge you. There is no safe way to have sex with women. You have to do it but think of it like sky-diving or motorcycling dangerously, you are taking your life (ok just your freedom and reputation) in your hands.

edit: sometimes even people in this sub-reddit think I am being extreme. But the reason I believe what I do is that I have talked to a ton of people about rape. Their beliefs are shocking. Based on the stated beliefs of the average person I am sure an average jury would convict based on almost anything. Remember that obviously innocent people are convicted all the time (see COTWA). If there is any question of your innocence I don't like your chances.

Maybe, but it's worth knowing that this ad doesn't look all different from drunk-driving ads. You could replace the word "rape" with "drive" and it would look just like that. I'm not quite sure that's what the ad insinuates, but I understand how one might assume that.

I'm not offended at all . When I so much as smell beer , my penis turns green , grows , and assaults everything within a ten mile radius .

The laws should really reflect the fact that I have this condition and cannot be held accountable for the actions of my penis while I'm drunk .

Women are allowed to use that excuse so I figure I should be able to use it as well .

Perhaps the message is that getting too drunk can make you much less aware of signs of discomfort from your partner. Not suddenly turning you to a rapist, but dulling your senses.

Seems to me that most women wouldn't lose their virginity without being drunk. If you don't want women to get drunk before having sex you have to teach them that sex is ok, normal, and healthy. Otherwise, as long as they are ashamed of it and feel it is taboo they will need chemicals that reduce their inhibitions so they can have sex. See the cycle? 1)Instill sex taboo in women. 2)Market alcohol to women who now need it to forget their taboo. 3)After having drunken sex woman may choose to levy charges of rape against their partner.
