hell I mean, even the "normal" feminists, they can't even fathom that they might just maybe have a teeny little bit of privilege. there is already separate terms tho, but to me it's a non issue.

Part of the issue is that feminism was never good or beneficial. For example the vote in the UK there were the sufragists (non-feminist) who got the vote, as opposed to the suffragettes (feminists) a domestic terror group. In the US feminists opposed the vote until obligations where dropped, while men were still drafted in exchange for theirs (and there was no law prohibiting women to vote, the voting right was based on land ownership).

I draw the distinction between the oblivious and malicious. But sound terminology is a good idea. I think about calling them for what they are: oblivious and malicious.

It's not our (MRA's) job to tell any/all feminists what sort of feminist they are.

There are hundreds of different kinds of feminism. But ALL feminists talk about feminism, and believe in feminism. That makes them all feminists...

Actually there are some like the different generation ones, sex positive feminists, sex negative feminists, trans exclusionary radical feminists or terfs and Sex worker exclusionary radical feminism (SWERF). There are also postmodernist feminists. And I'm sure there are eveb more.

I also think MRAs should be named according to different types.

"Men are scum" feminists

"Men are pigs" feminists

The foundational principals of all flavours of feminism are inherrently anti-male when you examine what needs to be true for them to accurately describe reality. Feminists can claim that it's "just about equality", but it's equality based on bigotted assumptions, presuming psychopathy on the part of men as a class.

Egalitarian values, and mens rights advocacy in particular, is innately antifeminist.

That is up to feminists to do. If the supposed majority who wants true equality doesn't want to be under that name with the twitter crazies, they need to distance themselves from them on their own. It isn't our job to do that.

I think there's already too much gatekeeping. I'm tired of people claiming feminists who trash talk wives, mothers, children, homemaking, and men "aren't real feminists" to deflect critcism. It's always been the norm for feminists, from the writers of its foundational texts to regular everyday nobodies. But gatekeeping who a "real feminist" is lets them pretend it isn't common. But I do think labels can be helpful. There's a difference between Marxist feminists and liberal feminists, for instance, though all feminists are more alike than they are different. That's probably why so few bother to separate them, the end result and core beliefs are all the same.

Feminism is a single movement. It is taight in schools and colleges under the guise of gender studies and equity, and glorifies misandry, hate speech and the hatred of men and boys.

Dividing feminism into various sub-groups will only serve to draw an imaginary theoretical line between "good feminism" and "bad femiism". In other words, this will validate the ideological basis of feminist misandry (i.e. equity, patriarchy etc) as good feminism, while sequesting the natural manifestations of this ideological feminist misandry as the acts of bad feminists. Feminists will then shift between the "good feminist" and "bad feminist" identities as they please, spewing hate speech and misandry with impunity in their bad feminist SJW assault gear, then shifting back to their good feminist position when defending their ideological position.

There is no such thing as "normal feminists", "real feminists", "equity feminists", "og feminists", "twitter feminists", there is just feminists. If there is hatred, bigotry and sexist stereotyping in the feminist movement, then the feminist movement needs to deal with it, not cover it up, or ignore it. With rights come responsibility.

I think there are two main types:

liberal feminists: The older type of feminists that were popular in the 1960s-80s. These types of feminists just wanna help women.

Radical feminism: This type of feminism believes that society is made by men to benefit men in every way. Thus they believe that men cannot have issues and that they are to blame for all sexism. This type is more common today and on social media, but it is definitely dying out.

These "different types" of feminism's are like cakes (sour tasting, foul smelling at that).

They may have different flavors and icings, but the core ingredient is basically the same:

Disregarding and disrespecting Men and shaming and cancelling them whenever they don't give feminists what they want.

My biggest distinction is institutional feminists and everyday feminists.

The former is those in academia and politics and represent the influence feminism has in earnest. The latter is most regular people who self identify as feminists, which have usually more reasonable ideas about equality.

The former relies on the more moderate views of the latter to indicate themselves from scrutiny while pushing female centric policies in the name of equality.

Well there are different types of feminists. This was recently discussed in the smaller sub r/FeminismUncensored where people can discuss issues regarding feminism.

I think the most important distinction is between libfems and radfems.

Liberal feminists are more the kind of people who just want equality for the women who aren't equal to men in all areas of society, while radical feminists are more the kind of feminists who believe women are constantly oppressed by and hurt by anything and everything men does and they also believe all women are oppressed by patriarchy if they are unequal to men. Liberal feminists however recognize that some inequalities or issues women face are due to their own priorities and choices in life and not always due to a patriarchy or oppression by men (such as prioritizing having and raising children over prioritizing a career).

Lots of men who call themselves feminists align with the liberal feminist views, while only women seem to align with or call themselves radical feminists.

Anyway, I think the term libfem and radfem distinguishes well enough between the main two different types of feminists. There's of course different types of feminists as well.

In my own experience, it's possible to have rational discussions with liberal feminists, but impossible to have with radical feminists.

Liberal feminism has no difference from egalitarianism in its definition. And the belief of the patriarchy theory makes someone a radical feminist also by definition.

So I use "radical feminists" vs "liberal feminists".
