I think this will create a lot of children with mental health issues. When these children grow up, the government will be paying huge settlements for allowing the courts to let this happen. Permanently changing someone before they have fully developed is dangerous and more and more examples are being presented to show that people who have transitioned at a young age end up regretting it.

Men will be even less likely to enter into marriage or parenthood and the gender divide will be even greater.

As well as contracts like prenups being created but for raising children in the event of divorce will become the norm because as it is now it isn't working.

[–]equalRights111 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Mental health issues seem to be rife anyway, I’m not sure this will result in a perceived increase, even if it does actually result in one.

[–]Suspicious-Sleep5227 40 points41 points42 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sounds somewhat similar to eugenics about a century ago which was the forced sterilization of those deemed unworthy of procreation. Not an exact comparison, but this is something that sounds just a crazy.

[–]equalRights111 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it’s rather different but I can see the similarity in that it was considered acceptable.

[–]equalRights111 31 points32 points33 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How have we reached this point? How do the courts not realise that this is absolute madness?

[–]AndyBrown65 34 points35 points36 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They are essentially saying mothers are more important than fathers

[–]Forcetobereckonedwit 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They are essentially saying that fathers have no rights whatsoever.

[–]AndyBrown65 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Too true

[–]Due-Caterpillar-2097 66 points67 points68 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Okay listen I am not transphobic, but its not okay to change your gender at age less than maybe 20. When I was age of that kid I wanted to be a dinosaur. If anyone would told me I can just magically take magical pills and operations to have scales, tail and sharp teeth I would take that offer in a heartbeat. Kids shouldn't make those kinds of decisions ! Decisions they will probably regret because trans is rather small percent of people.

[–]equalRights111 35 points36 points37 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately by disagreeing with any aspect of this, you are classed as transphobic. In particular because you have a ‘negative attitude’ towards it. Wikipedia mentions this. The definition seems to vary quite a bit, but essentially it boils down to ‘you disagree with it or have concerns about it’.

[–]Due-Caterpillar-2097 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I have concerns about it if they tell kid that has undeveloped brain can make such life changing decisions. Not even saying that not all trans people decide to fully transition... because it can be expensive and can have some risks sadly. Now is it okay for that kid to want to try different things like wearing dresses or saying he is a girl named luna ? Yep, because its part of him developing himself. You can say whatever you want but I will stay strong and say kids cant make those decisions. ( I will also say that there are people even adult who transitioned and regretted ! )

[–]equalRights111 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh yes, I’m sure you do, I probably agree with many of your concerns. The more concerning issue is that you would be labelled as ‘transphobic’ purely because you have concerns or disagree with things.

[–]Sirhugh66 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is why I don't donate to Wikipedia anymore.

[–]TalentedObserver 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Stop using Wikipedia. That shit has gone full librard and is no longer trustworthy in any meaningfully objective way.

[–]bistrus 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

A kid can't pick what to eat or when to go to bed because they're not mature enough. But they can decide to change sex? How does this make sense?

Those kids will end up with mental health issue

[–]CzechoslovakianJesus 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How does this make sense?

  1. Big pharma smells money and lots of it
  2. Progs want a hot new oppressed minority
  3. Cons want fresh targets for the culture war
  4. Kids desperate to be unique and special

[–]MisterDamage 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It makes sense because the decisions aren't being made by the children. The decisions are being made by adults who then gaslight the child into conforming to that decision.

[–]TheSandmann 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A variation on Munchausen by proxy.

-Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental illness and a form of child abuse. The caretaker of a child, most often a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick.

Renamed to Fabricated or Induced Illness by Carers previously known as Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy is not a condition, psychiatric disorder or diagnosis that a parent or carer has. Fabricated or Induced Illness by Carers is what a parent or carer does to a child.

[–]3G6A5W338E 44 points45 points46 points 3 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Circumcision was apparently not bad enough. They had to take it to next fucking level.

[–]equalRights111 19 points20 points21 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Circumcision is a separate issue, this is far worse.

[–]3G6A5W338E 18 points19 points20 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I agree, but both involve permanent damage to the male body done to kids who can't possibly consent.

[–]equalRights111 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

True, I’m just more concerned about the gender ideology, although both are problems.

[–]TalentedObserver -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In my view, by the time you actually wrap your head around circumcision, all the other stuff becomes “alright fuck it what now??” (ie significantly less important)

[–]Slikdijit 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Glad someone on here cares about circ

[–]UnconventionalXY 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I thought any transition of a minor required rigorous psychological assessment before any treatment was introduced: his Mother has an incipient conflict of interest and should not only not be the arbiter in this situation but must be balanced by the boys Father in influence outside of independent assessment.

Parents should not have the right to unilaterally dictate medical procedures on minors against current medical opinion.

In any case, I understood current medical practice was to socially transition a minor and then use reversible puberty blockers to give them more time to make a decision before hormones started to make harder to reverse changes. This is a 7 year old boy who is years off even puberty blockers, chemical castration should not even be on the horizon.

The medical profession is not implementing their primary hippocratic oath: first do no harm.

[–]OldEgalitarianMRA 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is Munchausen by Proxy syndrome. The mother reports the child needs transitioning to gain attention for herself and to alienate the child from his father.

This is a form of child abuse and the courts support it. There have been many times that the authorities have turned their backs on citizens.

[–]mikesteane 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I suspect that lots of her clients also have Munchausen by Proxy.

[–]Nerfixion 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've hate this story ever since a I first saw it and it just keeps getting worse. And now cali has a law preventing children going home if it's to stop them transitioning? Jesus christ California is such an evil state.

I don't think anyone can say as a father he didn't try, because it's been such a long fight.

[–]63daddy 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Having your son castrated is illegal in most states, but leave it to California to legalize it.

Texas is also to blame. Many states for example make it illegal to take someone under the age of consent to another state to avoid consent laws. Texas could similarly make it a crime for a Texas resident to take their son out of state for a horrific procedure that’s illegal in Texas.

It’s really disturbing any state would actually pass legislation allowing such harm be done to a child.

Californians should vote any politician who supported this law out of office.

[–]BorgClanZulu 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

non-American here: is it true that Texas is becoming more like California because they’re all moving over?

[–]TRexDin0 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. The ones moving in are often Republican and conservative Californians. However, Austin is getting to be like Silicon Valley.

[–]63daddy 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don’t think Texas is becoming like California, at least not yet, but the California exodus is certainly changing some other states.

[–]GetOffRedditToday 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

California people are absolutely changing Colorado it's actually been happening for awhile. They are shocked when people hunt/own guns. They also try to infect school boards and local politics with their bs. It's hilarious because Colorado isn't exactly super conservative (more libertarian or at least it used to be) but they act like the locals are from Alabama or something. I try to limit my interactions with them. They are amazingly condescending and out of touch with the rest of the country, and also with reality.

[–]coming2grips 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Complex scenario, no easy answers BUT WTFH?????

[–]OofOuch_MyBrain 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It ain't complex. Nothing about this is complex

[–]MicrosoftOSX 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Gender is a social concept Lets biologically modify this kid because of the gender concept he side with at this moment. Sounds logical

[–]rotco1 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bitches like these need their clits castrated.

[–]abusmakk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Clit is just for enjoyment. I think removing the tubes/ovaries with be similar to what she wants to do with the boys.

[–]DevilmanWunsen 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A phobia is an irrational fear, disgust or hatred of something. I'm not irrational to think this is disgusting. I've never stopped anyone from living life on their own terms, but if me opposing this makes me "transphobic" then so be it, I'm a proud transphobe then. Leave the kids alone!

[–]HurterOfFeefeesV2 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is absolutely disgusting let alone I'm almost certain it's against the law and/or in violation of his human rights? Its gotta be right? I'm really hoping this isn't gonna happen bc it's gonna make it ok to do this to little boys and it's already ok to mutilate them as new borns wtf is going on..

[–]yashspartan 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

... why is an issue that concerns roughly 1% of the US population becoming an issue that is concerning the common family?

This kind of decision should be done only after the age of 18 (minimum requirement for most things as is).

[–]NITAREEDDESIGNS 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Tragic...

[–]equalRights111 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Tragic that the courts even entertain this madness.

[–]NITAREEDDESIGNS 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes.

[–]soczewka 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Divide and conquer.
First authoritarian introduce nonsense law so that no one really knows what is legal what is not and who is responsible for what.
And ruling class keeps ruling unaffected by the problems of minions.

[–]killcat 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'd bet money on this being the mom's idea, classic "Look at me, look at me, look at me".

[–]BorgClanZulu -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

having a non binary child is equivalent to a fancy handbag these days

[–]titaniumtux7 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately, the only right we have here as men is choosing who we reproduce with. Long story short, don't marry a woke woman, don't marry a woman who supports transitioning kids, and hope to God she won't change her mind later once you find a good one.

[–]ZombieP0ny 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Holy fuck that site sucks with all those ads.

https://www.texastribune.org/2022/03/14/jeff-younger-transgender-care-house/

Better site without a ton of ads. Also, no puberty blockers don't chemically castrate you and pre-teen kids don't get puberty blockers in the first place.

[–]Colosphe 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I feel like the use of the phrase "chemical castration" has been a poor descriptor from the jump - it implies both punishment and permanence, neither of which are accurate here.

If a trans kid decides they want to detransition they just stop taking the blockers. Based on my limited understanding, one could be talking about the same procedure, it's just not conveying intent.

[–]Forcetobereckonedwit 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hate to say it but I see a tragic murder suicide on the horizon.

[–]Wilddog73 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sometimes I hear from people that moved to Texas to escape terrible politics. Guess that flipped on its head.

[+]Seamonkey_Boxkicker 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]TaskPlayful[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am not upset. I just thought that it was an interesting article and wanted to know what other people's opinions on it were.

[–]RowdyAirplane49 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The (sane) trans community even looks down at hormonal and surgical transition this young. Idk what normal person thinks this is a great idea

[–]DevilmanWunsen1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

(sane) trans community

9 times out of 10 whenever I've spoken to someone who's trans, they agree with child mutilation. Go on any trans sub and complain about this and see what happens.

r/truscum? I avoid all mainstream online lgbt places because it’s overridden by the loud minority of people who advocate for the stupidest things

World War Trans.

[+]AMerryKa -14 points-13 points-12 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Hormone therapy is not "chemical castration," it's perfectly safe and also reversible.

This is an anti-trans hit piece and these people can fuck off. Sorry you're too lazy to be informed about transgenderism & mindlessly believe the fearmongering, maybe read about the issue before ignoring overwhelming medical consensus about transgender affirmation instead of being a dick to your kid.

[–]TheSandmann 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are not the same chemicals used to chemically castrate as to block puberty?

No, they are not safe, and yes they won't kill the child outright, but the number of developmental issues that come from procedures like this are numerous and have not been completely catalogued yet.

This is not an anti trans issue. We don't let children get tattoos, or piercings, drink alcohol, smoke, engage in sexual relationships with adults, own guns, drive cars, buy property, buy or watch porn, vote, join the military, buy lottery tickets, buy pets, change their name, open a bank account, skydive, get married, get a credit card, or even a Costco card. Work a full time job, file a lawsuit, adopt a child, pawn goods, buy cough medicine, or live on their own.

There is no overwhelming medical consensus, there is propaganda, profiteering, and pandering. In a supportive household, there is zero harm for a child that suffers from gender dysphoria waiting until they are an adult before performing life altering and permanent changes to their bodies. Legitimate gender dysphoria is so utterly rare that it shouldn't even be part of the national discourse. Only affects less than 0.003%. Then it became trendy and there was a 400%+ jump in the number of cases, oddly enough the vast majority in girls between 11-23. Some middle school classrooms report that 50% of the students claim some variation of trans, non binary multi gender etc, but the number of men and women over 35 years stayed exactly the same as the last 30+ years. Odd?

How we let this go so far as to be open to this level of discourse? We should be treating those that advocate for child transitioning and parents that allow it the same way we would treat paedophiles that push to normalize sexual relations between a child and an adult and the parents that would facilitate the sexual abuse of their child.

Why not allow a child to have both legs amputated so they can have those really cool spring legs?

[–]towerandhorizon 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

If he goes and does something "desperate" to the "mother"...not going to lie, I will totally understand. Think what this kid has undergone (and is still about to undergo) is tantamount to sexual abuse. If the kid wants to transition at 18, I understand and respect that.
