Of course we should legalize. As with drugs just because you don't partake doesn't mean you can't support legalization. Harm reduction is a valid goal and from that perspective legalization is a no brainer.

The morality compass points to ban prostitution. Most of the religions outright ban or argue against it. Society can have it for soldiers, sailors and like geisha.

Also, feminists and female movements have a say on this. Lot of females argue against that.

Works in Nevada, Scandinavian countries. I am not sure about US or worldwide.

Yes simply because right now this money could go to support mafia and fund organized crime. There's no harm about it, only moral issues dictated by the religion or ideology. So if the state in question has official religion or ideology, well it might be a problem.

Dunno about the US and the west but where I live illegal status of prostitution causes slavery and inadequate reaction of the police when these girls try to report rape cases.

This has little to do with solving male problems.

I don't know whether prostitution should be legal. I think its effects need to be studied more before a decision is made.

Replace "prostitution" for "indentured servitude" or "voluntary temporary slavery." Even if these terms apply, the bigger question we should be asking is how we got to a place where this option even sounds like a good one in the first place. Very few women get into prostitution just because they want to. Making it a legal option normalizes the patterns that got us there, not good.

Plus dudes would get an outlet to hopefully cut out on the angsty shit.

"I can't control my emotions" is not an excuse to act out negatively. "Angsty men" still behave in the workplace. Let's not coddle fragile male sentiments to cater to manipulative behavior. "I can't control myself because I'm angsty" is the mindset of (a) toddlers and (b) abusive men.

If criminals can pay police now, so they close their eyes on some kidnapped and drugged girls, what will stop them from paying after legalization? They just would pay less, as they could make girls say that they choose or themselves.

Prostitution is already legalized for all practical purposes. At least from the consumers point of view. Go out and buy yourself a whore. Nobody cares. Capitalism gives you the blessing of an ever increasing variety of options, from the good old fashioned street hooker, to the pretentious Instagram whores, and everything from brothel girls, cam whores, twitch sluts, to sugar baby holes, and what not. Dive in.

It won't do much for incels, since they suffer from an acute risk phobia, and experience (from The Netherlands) tells us it doesn't seem to trafficing and sex slavery either.

Guys that can afford it and want to do it are already doing it. I don't think it would provide enough benefits from legalizing it to make it worth it.

I'm not convinced it would particularly help regulate it, there would be a black market regardless. To regulate it the government would have to tax it highly, meaning it would be expensive and the average chump couldn't afford it.

Legalization, even if it makes sense for the most privileged prostitutes, facilitates trafficking and encourages pimping. Since lack of desire is part of the business, force and coercion will always be necessary to maintain a workforce to meet the demand. Research anywhere the Dutch model exists, it’s a nightmare.

Legalizing sex work would end trafficking investigations. The more normalized and permissive the sex for pay industry gets, the more the government think it’s a waste of resources and that if you’re taking it up the ass for money voluntarily, you’re going to get hurt and it’s your own problem for putting yourself in that situation, even if it’s for survival. Men still use the BDSM defense when they choke their girlfriends to death.

It’s not a normal job, it’s not a normal ‘personal service.’

I don't see an issue with decriminalisation. Im not sure it cuts down on sex trafficking, when I looked into some countries where it was decriminalised sex trafficking went up and increased police focus was required, meaning they might catch more establishments but there are more in the first place so swings and roundabouts.

Sure. I think it should be legalized but with heavy licensing to avoid human trafficking. Check ups, unions to pay for health costs, the ability to move prostitutes of the street.

I fear if it's too expensive it won't get rid of street walkers / drug addicts. But if it's too cheap it will not attract enough people to the profession.

Some sorta default minimum should exist per client service with the ability to charge more.

Honestly I think for some people this would be perfectly fine.

It isn't the legalization...there are major cultural opposition to prostitution.

The problem has never been just sticking your dick in a P.....that is only a tiny subset of fuckup men who think that just being able to stick their dick in a P and humping for 2 minutes of sweat is going to solve their problem.

The actual problem, even for men, is absence of intimacy, connection and relationships....and having women laying in a cubicle in some red light district offering 10mins of sex for 100 dollars isn't going to solve that.

Hell, even in the US, Strip clubs have been legal for decades but you know what....less than 5% of the population ever go to such places....mostly as a gag, married men who want to see other women naked and few randos who thrive on the business model\atmosphere. Same would happen with legal prostitution....95% of the population have no interest in the service, a few would do it as gag, perhaps a married man or two and then there would be a tiny group of randos who would enjoy the business.

As for the real problem, it would have no impact whatsoever.....the lack of intimacy and connection.

PS....In another of our God's great humor, it is often the men who have the lowest desire for the intimacy and connection who are usually drowning in it....as it is with much of life.

Yes. Here’s why:

Legalized prostitution is healthier and safer for the sex workers, the Johns and society as a whole.
Legalized prostitution eliminates the black market and increases the tax base.
legalized prostitution would regulate the market and make it more accessible to men with limited incomes.
If porn is legal, why isn’t prostitution? It’s an example of our worst hypocrisy that we pretend sex for money is immoral and should be illegal unless the woman happens to be doing it front of a camera so some crusty old white men in southern California can make a lot of money off it.
