I think everyone's entitled to their own preferences.

If you only want to date fit people, or people in their 20s, or virgins, or millionaires... it's your choice. But choices don't exist in a vacuum.

If you're morbidly obese and you're angry that fitness models don't want you, that's your problem and not society's. It's the same story if you're broke and no one wants to fund your lifestyle, or if you're solely attracted to one age group or demographic and they don't want you.

No, i don't believe that all preferences are okay, fine etc. I have no idea what you mean by "cover", like what am i try to covering here?

That being said, it's not my life and everyone should live theirs as they wish and they are entitled to have any preferences they was, however ridiculous, offensive etc they are. So i will judge your character and move on with my life. I don't want to force anyone to do anything they don't want. As long as it's not harming to others i don't give a fuck about what an adult does/wants.

Do I think there's some men who like a clean downstairs because they want barely legal pussy? Yeah. Is it a lot? Yeah, probably. Do I think a grown ass adult man should be going near barely legal women? No. But is it alright he would like to. Sure. Do some of those wish they could um you know with kids? Yeah. Do I think it's a lot? No.

Do I think there's some people with incredibly bad takes about dating whatever race? Yeah. Do I think it's a lot? More than the above one, but mostly probably no.

It kind of depends really. And mostly, other than protecting kids or vulnerable types...it's not worth getting into? Like have your brain kingdom. Just make ethically kind decisions from it.

Yes, attraction is very personal and cannot be negotiated with.

If somebody told me, "I'm not attracted to Group Y because they are all stinky, low IQ criminals with AIDS" I might object to that on a factual level, but I still couldn't argue with them not being attracted to Group Y.

I'd hazard to call ALL preferences okay, because not all of them are.

I can't help but raise an eyebrow when a person ONLY dates individuals who are significantly younger than them, or people who have histories of mental illness. If you're exclusively attracted to people you can easily manipulate, that's abnormal. Some preferences can also be considered fetishes, and that's very dehumanising to bring into the dating market.

Excusing those examples, I'd say the most common preferences are pretty tame.

Thinness is attractive because it's a sign of health. Height and wealth indicate security. Hips and breasts make a person look more ready to concieve. Etc etc.

So yeah, everyone has preferences and they shouldn't be villainised, but there are underlying psychological reasons behind every preference. Sometimes these reasons are inherently wrong

The reasoning for the preferences is may be where you hit some hiccups. If that makes sense?

I want a "younger" woman because she's not jaded it's just biology bro! Older women have way too much baggage. Young women are sweet and don't know better. Basically it makes you look like the problem.

I want a low body count woman. If you have a lower count I get it. Maybe religious reasons I understand. But this whole she is dirty and ran through nonsense is just stupid. It makes you look bad for having the preference and shows insecurity.

No fatties.Okay justifiable. But you don't have to be a dick about it. But if you are overweight whining about someone else being overweight you are the problem.

No single moms. Understandable. But sitting there and saying no one will want you because YOU don't want them is dumb. You sound dumb. But would go off if a childfree woman doesn't want to date a single dad.

We all have standards and preferences while we are dating so we can find someone best suited to our tastes. That's what dating is! We have types and want to meet someone who we would be interested.

I think having a preference within an agreed upon moral framework. For example, I think it’s widely agreed upon that pedophilia isn’t morally acceptable and regardless of gender, if your preference is dating children then that’s a big no no. Apart from that, as long as it’s moral (do you impose harm on the other person), then it’s largely a personal choice and a personal consequence. I think it’s totally reasonable for men to prefer, let’s say, large breasts or asses. It’s also totally reasonable for women to prefer, tall men.

I don't think all preferences are okay on a personal level, but I think there's a way to have preferences without forcing them onto other people. People are going to want what they want, might as well encourage them to be normal about it.
