So recently I made a post concerning men having inflated opinions of themselves in the dating market, and that the best thing for many men would be to lower their standards. I still think this is an effective tactic for some, but I saw many comments coming from guys who claimed to be average but have no success with any women whatsoever, even blow average women. At first I’d thought this was just people proving my point, until I looked up what average actually is in developed countries and..wow. The average male is overweight, has sub par personal hygienics, no recreational physical hobbies, and an income not exceeding 30k annually (can be lower depending on metrics used and where you include). This is what is normal, and it’s also pathetic on all fronts. Yes you can technically move the exact percentage of what is average a bit if you use different metrics than what I searched for this but from what I can tell it’s still roughly the same, the average person just sucks. I think any self respecting man should know, being overweight, inactive, poor, and unhygienic isn’t acceptable. Not for finding a partner or just living in general. And using normal or average to avoid blame for incompetence is both lazy and sad. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any standards for social competence but if anyone has any info there it would be appreciated as I assume it’s also subpar on average. Now for the good takeaway from this, it is incredibly, unbelievably easy to be above average in most areas. Yeah you can’t be 6ft but when most people who are are also overweight and poor your job isn’t really that hard. I had previously thought that with consistent hard work, the lowest a guy can peak at is about a 6 barring disabilities, but knowing what exactly a 5 is I think that’s just false most guys probably have a peak of 8.

TLDR: you being average is bad but that’s actually good for you.
