I don't know any female over the age of 20 who takes Cosmo seriously. The only time I read it was when I was about 15 or 16 because I was getting out of teen magazines and I thought it made me grown up.

And with that being said, show me one Cosmo article that states that men are morally and intellectually inferior to women.

[–]TRPACC -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago* (16 children) | Copy Link

Here is a women's dating rules book as far back as the 1800s saying it

http://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/2curxr/all_right_bpers_what_are_men_better_at_than_women/cjjnx0z

The rules and all these other best sellers have been basically saying it for years.

What trp do, is what has been normal for women to do for at least 200 years.

[–]PorgiAmor 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

That says that women are men's social superiors, not that men are worthless fools who need a good woman to train them and lead them.

The Rules was a best seller for a while, and then once the fad was over, it fell off the bestseller list. Probably one of the authors' divorce helped kill its buzz. And again, while the Rules had some advice on artificially making men wait and said that women shouldn't ever take the initiative in asking a man out, in no way did it trash all men or say they couldn't be trusted, were selfish, or were inherently of weak character. TRP says all of those things about women.

[–]TRPACC -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

That says that women are men's social superiors, not that men are worthless fools who need a good woman to train them and lead them.

Countless women's best sellers and women's articles have talked about training men in.

rp isn't doing anything that isn't normalized in mainstream female culture.

People freak out when men treat women the way women treat men.

[–]PorgiAmor 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Countless women's best sellers and women's articles have talked about training men in.

The TRP stuff about "training your women" doesn't really bother me, precisely for what you cited. Calling it "training" is a bit demeaning, but, let's face it -- most romantic partners try to "train" each other a bit. Romantic partners tend to manipulate each other in minor and mostly harmless ways in the best of relationships. If this is done without malice and done mostly by positive reinforcement of desired behavior, I don't see a problem with it.

So if TRP really did focus on self-improvement and ways to try to improve your woman's behavior toward you, requiring your SO to act respectfully towards you or else being ready to leave her, then I wouldn't dislike it. And yes, I have known many men (my own father for one) in bad relationships with controlling and disrespectful women who beat them up and then hated them for their weakness. That is not a good place to be, and men need to escape those relationships. To the extent that "Red Pill Thinking" (not really TRP itself) helps with that, it's a force for good.

But no, TRP does much, much worse. It encourages actively manipulating women in order to keep them constantly insecure. It encourages policing and monitoring women for possible "hypergamy", even to the point of invading their privacy. Blend all that in with the constant refrains of how women are inherently weak, selfish, immature, and so on and you end up with the terrible subreddit that is TRP. It's the electronic male version of Cosmo with a heavy dash of pure solipsistic evil stirred in.

[–]TRPACC -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, trp is seen as something terrible because it freely does what women are free to do.

Blend all that in with the constant refrains of how women are inherently weak, selfish, immature,

Like some of the messages from feminism and advertisements that appeal to women say?

[–]PorgiAmor 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

No, trp is seen as something terrible because it freely does what women are free to do.

Within the boundaries of law, anyone is free to do what they want. But it's ultra hypocritical of TRP to decry when women act irresponsibly, are selfish, promiscuous, manipulative, entitled, and destroy relationships for frivolous reasons but while also encouraging men to do exactly the same. Two wrongs don't make a right and all that.

[–]TRPACC 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Im not talking about their hypocrisy, I'm talking about the hypocrisy of their critics.

[–]polyhooly 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Do you understand the implications of what you just linked me to? What is meant by "social superiors," is that women are to remain well-mannered, dainty, and unassuming. Men are free to act little more rough around the edges. And it's really quit hilarious that you had to cite a guide from the 19th century to attempt to prove your point.

Again, I will pose the question: Find me one article in Cosmo that states that women are morally and intellectually superior to men.

[–]TRPACC 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

All you did there was twist women being socially superior into women being victims.

Find me one article in Cosmo that states that women are morally and intellectually superior to men.

Women are generally viewed as morally superior, just like at how feminists or other mainstream people react to data in DV that shows the extent of women's perpetration, flat outright denial.

The extremes of rp are the norms in female culture.

[–]polyhooly 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No, that's just what you want to see.

I'm of the opinion that any sort of prescribed gender role is oppressive to both genders.

As for society at large, honor and valour are generally viewed as masculine traits. That's why men are treated so harshly when they deviate from what is considered the defining traits of masculinity.

[–]TRPACC 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Women conditioned things in such a way that they acted all dainty and superior and the dirty work was for men.

[–]polyhooly 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Whatever sounds good to you does not make for good history. Both of your recent replies are literally things you have just made up because they conveniently fit your agenda.

I already showed you a book in which a woman was teaching people thats how how it should be.

[–]polyhooly 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

::sigh::

[–]TRPACC 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Whats your theory, men started saying women should start acting all superior and dainty. A man was controlling the thoughts of that woman that wrote the book.

This would line up with the feminist view of women, agency less waifs.

[–]polyhooly3 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Whats your theory, men started saying women should start acting all superior and dainty. A man was controlling the thoughts of that woman that wrote the book.

I said nothing about men controlling women. That's all your own words. What I have written about is prescribed gender roles: Men act this way, women act this way. This is a social values issues, not a men versus women issue, as you seem to think it is. Women certainly can perpetuate misogyny.

They are both offensive. Cosmo makes men out to be one-dimensional, which is stupid. But I've never heard of Cosmo articles such as: "all men are rapists", "find em, fuck em, flee", "how to manipulate your guy in seven days", or "marriage: shackle him down for good".

Cosmo articles are not about hate.

In the end, they're bad, but not the same as what's preached on TRP.

The teach men not to rape campaign is not about women being careful, which they should, that is what autonomy is all about.

I can't bitch about soft feminism, only ratched cunts that use feminist as a portmantreau.

as opposed to TRP which actively encourages this behavior.

we encourage people to not have exagerated expectations. If a girl is preocupied with "finding herself" fuck her and say good bye. If a chick want's to settle down tell her you are only interested in fucking and let her decide is she is interested or not.

Yes, and all that is manipulative shit. Beyond that dread game, being more attractive than your partner of having the occasional fit is also in there. Most TRP methods is women game adapted for bitches.

All men are less intelligent and inferior to women

it certainly is implied in all women targeted media, even the first lady thinks so.

Again the thinking with your dick is partially true and a very well accepted stereotype.

Men are like children.

you know this is very predominant. Especially because bottom of the barell feminism is not about pushing women up but about pulling men down, infantilising is childs play considering the rest of their attitudes.

Yes it is comparable, both are gender strategies broke down for the lay(wo)men. And yes, if there where better sources for male sexual strategies I would agree that both are crap, but there isn't however so we are stuck with it while upper level women's(feminist) strategies usually revolves around ego stroking mantras "you don'+t need a man", "you go girl" "love me unquestionably with my flaws and all." and the classic "Men are just intimidated by smart, educated, determined, opinionated and powerfull mature women"

Yeah, Cosmo has a lot of the "how to drive your man crazy in bed" type of stuff. Never seen any women's mag telling women that they should just use men to get their own rocks off without caring about his pleasure at all, which is an idea I have seen espoused on TRP.

[–]asd1100 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Because guys who do that thought that it was okay before hand.

Very rarely, it's all about keeping a persona, kinda like PUA, it doesn+t encourage filtering and giving emotional comfort(except for the sexy pages)

It's not about getting them to do things, it's about breaking their ego and getting them to do things for the relationship. And mind you that is different than breaking their will or turning them into pupets or slaves(exept for the sexy pages)

Actually both men and women insult the other gender when they are hurt, you can see this both in trp and tumblr.

Well no, in public they say things more euphemistically: women are smarter than men, as we all know. - Michele Obama, 2014 and she did get applause for it.

Yes, you can go back it society is reasonable but when it comes to men it is not. You would not ask a battered wife to just get over it and reenter a dysfunctional relationship if those where the norm. Now would you-

Yes it does but that is because the internet forum feeds it's self on the pain of it's members. As pure theory we encourage men to say fuck it and move on, enjoy life and stop letting women control them.

Do you honestly think that was sarcastic? those where laughs of approval not "wow you're so funny." The public did respond favorably ina overwhelming fashion

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Bitching about an entire gender is always seen as unreasonable even if it occurs right after a breakup. The people around you will tolerate it because they understand you're in pain right after a breakup but eventually they will expect you to get over it. This is true for both men and women.

I am saying that pushin a weak blue piller right back into the game is cruel.

Bun not true for internet forums.

They take how they feel about women after a bad experience and make it their rule of thumb in life for interacting with women.

don't confuse our mysoginy with anger, the rhetoric is not emotion based but experience based. And most of our experieces are pretty awesome- But FR are seened as showofish and don't get the view of a another divorce rape.

It's the safest place for them to be, their real life friends will push them to be another cunts bag boy. And the cycle repeats its self. There he may stumble one of my comments or other better speakers and say, yeah women do suck but that is just their nature, I can find happiness in this world if I become my own man.

It was a pandering joke, she knew her audience and pandered to them. That wasn't sarcasm but emphasis. Along the lines: I know it's not nice to say, but we all know it and since it's just us girls here, I'll say it.

[–]Perspective133 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bitch about women being wary but then blame them for not being wary enough when something bad DOES happen. Why do the men doing the rape not get any of the blame here?

I don't believe anyone is saying rapists should be blameless in rapes. That being said, crime of any sort requires two things: opportunity and desire. Nobody can eliminate the desire, but we can eliminate the opportunity. In the case of rape, that falls mostly on the woman to do so.

[–]TRPACC 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I've never seen a college pamphlet state that all men are rapists.

Right, they just say all rapists are men and erase female perpetration of sexual aggression.

TRP doesn't do anything near as horrible as that.

[–]TRPACC 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No, they don't...

So your pamphlets don't say 1 in x women while giving no stat for men that's inclusive of the rate of female perpetration?

Can you link me to feminist information that doesn't erase female perpetration, any at all. It doesn't exist.

No, they only state that women WANT to be "literally raped"

No they don't

and if they say they don't, it's because they're lying/hamstering.

No they don't.

This is just twisting their words to demonize them, its not some official position or policy, like feminist erasure of rape.

You mean pamphlets discussing female rape list the stats of women getting raped?

Yes I mean feminist rape related hate propaganda thats used for rabble rousing and erases female sexual aggression and paints sexual aggression as male.

Which you apparently support.

TRP doesn't do anything as horrible as that, nor likely will it.

As for your source, its about very popular female mainstream media book, in which the female protagonist is repeatedly raped. Which does suggest that there are many women that harbour fantasies about being raped by a powerful billionaire.

Except the pamphlets we're referring to don't do that. Instead tjey merely discuss a common problem many women face.

Nope, sorry they do

They misrepresent sexual aggression as male.

Feminist propaganda misrepresents domestic violence too.

Its the deliberate erasure of abuse, in order to create fear, resentment and support a conspiracy theory, as well as generate a lot of money.

An your divorce rate example doesn't work at all because men and women are sexually assaulted and abused at near equal rates, and typically only men get divorce raped.

If that's how you want to rationalize it, that's your deal.

Yes, I "rationalized" it by describing what it is. Its not a rationalization.

You're completely incapable of empathy for women any more, as evidenced by how genuinely upset you get at women merely discussing problems they face.

This is a projection of your own mind, as you are supporting the deliberate erasure of abuse victims. You are not upset they are being erased, you are upset someone is saying that they are being erases.

The trp people, are your moral betters.

[–]trudatness -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but women do commonly exude those behaviors.

I'm sorry if you think that's misogyny, but we're sick and tired of being led down the primrose path of false beliefs and false expectations.

If women don't like those generalizations, then they need to stop being myopic, selfish, immature, hypergamous and solipsistic.

There are women out there that hold themselves to a higher regard. They are ridiculously few in number, but they are out there.

If you're a woman and you don't like being called disloyal, and uncomprehending of honor then don't fucking do or be those things.

The whole social mantra of feminism is based on a rather dark brand of selfishness. Feminists commonly put out misandrist messages and pass them off as enlightenment. They preach man-hate. They advocate for rescinding male civil rights. Feminists extol both self destructive and predatory behaviors that satiate desires for instant gratification.

They try to sensor opposing view points and double down on harmful policy when shown evidence of bad results. Its not an altruistic movement.

Women don't bat an eye at divorce rape, expect help getting hired and accepted into colleges, want to be believed by default on every accusation they make, get insulted when expected to pay for a meal, think drunken regretful sex is rape - and when anyone tries to have a conversation about male suicide or the effect of fatherlessness on society they make death threats, pound on desks, go on slut walks and pull fire alarms.

Here's a fucking clue. When you act like a child, people are going to notice. Some people are even going to call that out.

80% of all divorces are pursued by women.

The #1 reason listed for why they are getting divorced?

Dissatisfaction.

1 in 3 children in the US are growing up without their fathers.

Funny thing about the internet... It allows people to share information about their common experiences and easily research the causes.

It's not difficult to notice that feminist narratives extol the kind of behaviors that are counter to addressing the growing problem of fatherlessness in the US. One only has to look at this one issue alone for my points to be properly illustrated.

When given their druthers women would rather use the state to force men to fork over their resources, than be loyal and honorable.

Our good friend Karen Straughan illustrates the point pretty decently.

How many men do you know of leave a marriage because of "dissatisfaction" and then force their ex-wives to make monthly payments to them for 10-15 years?

We're not talking about a few bad apples here. Half of all marriages end in divorce.

The savagery of the divorce effect on men, including financial ruination and the existence of unconstitutional debtors prisons has gotten the attention of men collectively. A man can love his family and work hard providing an affluent lifestyle, thinking he's leading a good life being a good man - and then his wife can wake up one morning and get a wild hair across her ass and destroy his life.

It really doesn't take much either. All she has to do is scrawl some halfway coherent accusations down, hand it over to court officials and 25 years of hard work and personal sacrifice by the husband is rendered meaningless.

"This may come as startling news to a public that has been led to believe that women are the ones who suffer financially postdivorce, not men. But the data show otherwise, according to an exhaustive study of the subject by Sanford L. Braver, a professor of psychology at Arizona State University and author of Divorced Dads: Shattering the Myths. "The man is in a lot poorer condition than the popular media portray," he says. "This idea of the swinging, happy-go-lucky, no-worries single guy in a bar... that's just not it at all." The misconception was fueled by Harvard professor Lenore Weitzman's widely cited book, The Divorce Revolution: The Unexpected Social and Economic Consequences for Women and Children in America.

Weitzman's 1985 tome claimed that postdivorce women and children suffer on average a 73 percent drop in their standard of living, while the divorced men's standard of living increased by 42 percent. Years later, Weitzman acknowledged a math error; the actual difference was 27 percent and 10 percent, respectively. But Braver says even that figure is based on severely flawed calculations. Weitzman and other social scientists ignored men's expenses — the tab for replacing everything from the bed to the TV to the house — as well as the routine costs of helping to raise the children, beyond child support. Even the tax code favors women: Not only is child support not tax deductible for fathers, but a custodial mother can take a $1,000 per child tax credit; the father cannot, even if he's paying. As "head of the household," the mother gets a lower tax rate and can claim the children as exemptions. If the ex-wife remarries, she is still entitled to child support, even if she marries a billionaire. Indeed, every year men are actually thrown in jail for failing to meet their child-support obligations. In the state of Michigan alone, nearly 3,000 men were locked up for that offense in 2005."

Men that do experience an increase of standard of living do in spite of divorce not because of it. Me personally, my divorce has cost me about $250K in lost assets, payments and fees. Nobody can say they are better off after having a quarter of a million dollars ganked from them. There's quite a few men out there who would say I got off easy, too. Let me tell you, it took a herculean effort to bounce back from being homeless from the divorce to get to where I am today.

This is why men vibrate with rage when feminists suggest women need to be the beneficiaries of presumed guilt in accusations of abuse. Women lie to get what they want in courts.

I could write an entire post on malignant mother syndrome and parental alienation syndrome which NOW denies exists.

Enough of these behaviors are pervasive in contemporary society to such a point where men are asking why and what to do to avoid these things.

Our conclusion? The majority of women in western society suffer some form of narcissism related personality disorder and a good portion of them are borne from destructive, irrational feminist narratives.

We have every right to raise awareness to these issues - and I haven't even gotten into the observations of the PUA community. The MRA angle is enough to draw these hypotheses.

But according to Blue Pill feminist sycophants we are "misogynists" for recognizing these things.

Meanwhile, all it takes in a few minutes of reddit browsing to find "rape culture" dialogues. So it's perfectly OK for feminists to castigate all men as patriarchal shitlord rapists, but it's misogyny for guys in TRP to make the claim that women have narcissistic tendencies. Even saying this is false equivalency - because "rape culture" is based on an extremely dubious set of studies that laughably inflate the existence of rape and the growing rate of fatherlessness is real and verifiable.

So I stand by what I said. If you don't like the statements TRP makes about the likelihoods prevalent in female behavior, then raise awareness among among women to not behave in such a manner. You can't expect to say nothing to see here and be taken seriously when the number of men (and children) getting shitfucked continues to grow.

do college pamflets count?

Show me a college pamphlet that says this verbatim. The information is talking about protecting yourself from rape, which does require you to be on guard especially in clubs and at parties.

ACtually that is precisely what a good feminist has to do, all the empowerment none of the comitment.

Do you know anything about feminism??

"how to get a guy in x days"

Fair enough, but not "how to overtly manipulate him to bend to your will."

The main position of blue pillers is your rhetoric makes me feel bad. All post modern humanist derivative narratives are judged based on individual well being. Be it liberalism, feminism or veganism. The action is judged based on how "bad" it is, not on consequences, effect or outcome.

[–]ms_kittyfantasticothe great wall of vagina 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Give me an example of an anti-standard. Don't use stay-at-home parents because an aspect of feminism is about choosing what's right for yourself, regardless of the traditionality or non-traditionality of your choice.

[–]asd1100 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

The point of traditionality is that is has optimal outcomes.

[–]ms_kittyfantasticothe great wall of vagina 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]asd1100 -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Not putting your family life first while in your twenties, while you have the looks to get a great husband, a flexible identity which alows you to mold with your SO and the patience to raise a kid. But instead focusing on getting a degree, career and having fun on other peoples money. Now I give you that society makes professional development harder in your 30s and 40s (it's actually hard by womens standards, men face the same struggles regardless of age) but nature makes having a family even harder then.

[–]ms_kittyfantastico2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I had a response typed out then my phone crashed. Will respond later. But:

TL;DR: your example is a good example of something feminists typically do not support.

[–]asd11001 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And that is fine, but a LOT of women feel pressured to NOT even consider something like this as a viable option. It is the exact opposite of traditionalist peer pressure but in fact has the same effect but with horrible and unpredictable outcomes(not everyone can make youtube videos about sex ed as a career path.)

[–]ms_kittyfantastico1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

TL;DR: your example is a good example of something feminists typically do not support.

That being said, let me say why feminists typically don't condone these things…

Not putting your family life first while in your twenties, while you have the looks to get a great husband,

I'll give you that initial attraction is important, but really? A great husband doesn't have anything to do with looks. Either way, there are plenty of hot 30 year olds and 40 year olds, male or female.

and the patience to raise a kid.

I would argue that maturity would lead to more patience.

But instead focusing on getting a degree, career and having fun on other peoples money.

Other people's money? What are you talking about?

Now I give you that society makes professional development harder in your 30s and 40s (it's actually hard by womens standards, men face the same struggles regardless of age) but nature makes having a family even harder then.

Not sure what you're saying here.

[–]asd11001 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

A great husband doesn't have anything to do with looks.

Have you ever considered that the husband might want a hot 20 year ld wife? great men don't just sit there and not want anything.

I would argue that maturity leads to a generational disconect, less energy and if you pile up a job a very frustrated adult and a inconsistend enviroment for the child.

Other people's money? What are you talking about?

That is what young attractive women basically use their looks for, either geting dead end jobs or gettng one or two months rent...I don't mean actually fucking a guy for money, men are to whiped for that, they just give their money away.

It's hard to enter the workforce while you're 35 but it's even harder to make and raise a healthy baby.

[–]fiat_lux_Red Pillar 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I always just assumed it's because men are more threatening to society and they're taken more seriously. I've seen women go mental with anger and grief talking about how they'll kill or cause injury to someone who wronged them. They get consoled (they're obviously suffering emotionally, after all) and maybe a wagging finger of disapproval. If it's not about violence and merely about manipulating the man, it's just humor.

See a man do and say the same things and everyone will take it very seriously, because men are perceived as more physically threatening and aggressive. They are seen as a real risk. Even if it's not about violence, the mere possibility that certain ideas encourage violence in them is cause for real concern.

[–]TRPACC -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Its a part of mainstream female culture, like the rules, and all the similar best sellers.

Mumsnet, jezebel and mainstream feminist journalists that spew anti male hate are too.

Its just that people freak out if men put the shoe on the other foot.

Its been normal for women to speak about men the way rp speak about women in the mainstream female culture for a long time.

People lose their minds when men start speaking back the same way.

This is due to sexism, female privilege and entitlement.

[–]luridlurker4 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

normal for women to speak about men the way rp speak about women i

If that's your world, again, I'd suggest getting out of this "normal" world.

[–]TRPACC-4 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Its not my world, all you have to do is look on sites like mumsnet, or anywhere else where women air grievances with men.

All you have to do is look at all he train him like a dog best sellers.

[–]luridlurker2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

There are lots of best sellers. I'm reading a best seller right now: "Capital in the Twenty-First Century" I'm sure you've read it or at least know what it's about?? Since you're completely into this mainstream culture? I'm sure everyone you know is familiar with Thomas Piketty.

I'm mean, forchristssake, Scientology's Dianetics book is a best seller and its just batshit insane. I don't think mainstream culture subscribes to Dianetics.

It must be your world because you know what mumsnet says. I don't. No one I know does. You apparently have actually read Cosmo or someone you know has. I don't think I've ever picked up a Cosmo... I don't know anyone who has.

Either you subscribe to mumset/cosmo's mindset, or you subscribe to another mindset which uses these as some imagined enemy. If you like being in that world, it's not my business, but it seems like a shallow place to hang.

Now if you want to point to something specific this mumsnet says and discuss its merits or pitfalls, fine. That might be entertaining... but you're complaining about a whole world view and it's just not got much depth or interest to it. Maybe expand your world a bit if your "mainstream" is bothering you.

[–]TRPACC-1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No, its not my world.

Its mainstream female culture.

Mumsnet is more hateful towards men than trp is women and it has mainstream sponsorship.

Jezebele is mainstream feminist culture, they laugh and brag about beating up their partners in rl.

Mainstream female culture is probably much worse than trp.

Its just that women expect deferential treatment.

[–]luridlurker5 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Its mainstream female culture.

For you

And if that's mainstream for you... I'm just very glad my entire existence is outside of all you're talking about.

[–]TRPACC-3 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No. The mainstream isn't a subjective thing.

A mainstream site is a mainstream site, mainstream advertising messages for women are mainstream, mainstream feminists that laugh about beating up their partners in mainstream publications are also part of the mainstream.

Mainstream people get all bent out of shape if men start mirroring it.

You are part of this mainstream that holds these double standards.

[–]luridlurker4 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Ok, let's do the numbers. Give me sources/numbers of how many copies of these best sellers sold.

For example, grabbing numbers from Forbes, Cosmo's circulation is listed at 3,000,000 world-wide. For comparison, Beyonce has a fan base estimated in the 100s of millions.

You might be able to argue Beyonce is mainstream, but Cosmo? We're talking an order of magnitude less. I know Beyonce fans. I don't know a fan of Cosmo. What about you? Does your mom, friend's gf, gf read cosmo? Do all the women in your life read Cosmo? (If so, maybe suggest better reading material for them.... maybe get more/different friends?)

Even if these are truly ubiquitous in our culture, I would suggest Cosmo doesn't sell to the successful. It's a rag based on self-hate in the guise of self-improvement... very much like TRP. Why buy into either?

You are part of this mainstream that holds these double standards.

I don't mean to insult you, but it's kinda obvious: You don't know shit about me.... But it'd be interesting to see you back up your statement. What double standards do I hold, and why?

You can put people in whatever box you like, but if those boxes are making you unhappy, it's time to get out of that mindset and see what else is out there.

[–]TRPACC-5 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

We don't have to the the numbers, its mainstream.

First, that's awful. Second, who the fuck are these people?

This "The Talk" averages 1.8million viewers.... that's not even 0.5% of the US population. How is that mainstream? Why are you falling for shows/sites that are bait click? This type of trash makes money on controversy, baiting and being a spectacle.

If you truly believe that the majority of women in your life appreciate this trash than either:

1) You're right, and that's awful for you. Avoid the women in your world at all cost then... there's nothing really redeemable there.

OR

2) You're wrong, and there's few if any women you'll run into that think like this. In that case, believing most women think like this will hinder your ability to connect to others.

Edit: Ah, "The Talk" is daytime TV. Yikes. Traaaaaassssshyyyyyyy

So you don't think the DRASTIC difference in tone and language and anger and rage and bitterness has nothing to do with why TRP is seen as "evil"?

A laymen reading anything over there is going to think that. The same reaction doesn't occur with "Cosmo"

[–]TRPACC -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

No. I know there is research showing that men treating women equally, is perceived as misogyny due to women being used to special treatment.

People overlook radfems and women venting about bad experiences with men, or take their side - when men do its perceived as evil.

No they don't.

Or did you miss the part of the internet outside of TRP that literally hates radfems.

They're disparaged in the mainstream way more than TRP. Hell most people don't even know what TRP is. But they know what a radfem is and not to like it.

TBP/PPD... not real life.

The media coverage TRP did get was right after the Eliot Rodgers shooting and the reason people thought it was "evil" is because you're front page makes it easy for someone to think that. It's extremely bitter toward women and all of the expletives in the world are saved for female kind.

No. I know there is research showing that men treating women equally, is perceived as misogyny due to women being used to special treatment.

And I'm sure there's also research showing that when some women decide to go to work instead of become a SAHM, some men feel as though it's a slight against them because they're used to certain historical special treatment and expectations of having a helper/partner at home.

We can both play the "special treatment" game.

[–]TRPACC -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

No they don't.

Yes they do, just go to a mainstream site like mums net or jezebel and look at the way they bitch about men. Read Guardian articles by feminists.

Its being going on in plain sight for decades, you cannot see it because its normal.

We can both play the "special treatment" game.

Not really, because men don't get special treatment and research shows that if women are treated like men, its perceived as misogny.

For example, rp behaving like women have been in the mainstream is perceived as evil and deviant.

Plus, traditional marriages weren't men getting special treatment, its the only set up that worked before modern technology. Now housewives get special treatment, he works to pay for a home she can evict him from at anytime. He is basically a tenant in his own home.

I don't necessarily disagree with you overall. We agree on a lot. But you have a tendency to claim things as illegitimate or even better, claim something never happened or existed, to shape your narrative.

And my view is, it's all a piece of the pie (big or small) that shaped the greater narrative.

[–]fiat_lux_Red Pillar 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm think OP is aiming at a wider point. Cosmo is meant to represent a larger subset of women's media.

For example, you can head down to you local bookstore megachain and check the relationship aisles. I've compared what I read there to trp and there are some funny similarities. Men do overtly get called stupid, one-dimensional, and governed by their "little boy glands". A lot of the advice is about how to manipulate their behaviour without explicit communication (the assumption is often that their fragile male egos can't handle it).

Of course, there's also much more moderate advice that uses politically correct phrasing. There's also what you'd consider "healthy" relationship advice that suggests communication. The point is though that the advice is varied and does contain a lot of objectionable content. Just that it rarely gets noticed or complained about.

Which is why I excluded it when I quoted you. For future reference, when I quote something and then respond to it below, that means I am responding to what I quoted. If I don't quote something, I am not responding to it.

Almost all of those were about how to be a good lover

Doing things in order to whip a guy is just "how to be a good lover"? I guess we will have to fundamentally disagree on this one.

None were about ... men being stupid & one dimensional

Saying that you can whip a guy by touching him a certain way surely implies that we are stupid and one dimensional (i.e. primarily lizard brained that can't do anything cause sex is constantly on the mind).

Yeah, that's what feminist controlled media is for. See every sitcom with a stupid fat man with an astonishingly hot wife who berates him for being stupid.

Edit: forgot cartoons as well, idiot husbands galore (i.e. simpsons, family guy etc). They're even reaching children with that one.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

Lets flip that around and talk about how every fat man has an unrealistic hot wife, and any woman outside of that look becomes a joke, meaning women are only worth anything if they look good. If they don't, they become a joke. See: Family Guy, Bridesmaids, South Park, Simpsons.

I'm not denying what you're saying about the fat, stupid man stereotype, but dont take that and then dismiss any caricatures and negative stereotypes television has created for women as well.

[–]PhokusProgressive-Lazy Christian-Leans RP 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Lets not flip that around, when i say 'astonishingly hot wife' i mean the fact that the man in question is way below average in looks and the wife is average or slightly average (but still WAY above her husband). Lets not pretend Marge Simpson is a looker.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Marge Simpson is a fictional character...

[–]PhokusProgressive-Lazy Christian-Leans RP 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

And? The creators chose to make Homer Simpson to be a fat bumbling idiot, what's his attractiveness, like a 2 out of 10? Marge is the very definition of a 5 in attractiveness (and far smarter than homer). That brings me to another point: in society, you're allowed to say 'women are smarter than men' without any repercussions. But oh boy, if somebody says the opposite on TV, there'll be hell to pay. Again, it's about the messages these shows send to people.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

No you aren't allowed to say women are smarter than men. Stop going to tumblr, looking at shitty women's pages, then deciding all women are like that. That's like me going onto TRP and finding 64 examples of sexist things they say about women, then saying all men are bad.

[–]PhokusProgressive-Lazy Christian-Leans RP 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

Actually, women ARE allowed to say women are smarter than men:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/aug/6/michelle-obama-women-are-smarter-than-men/

Just how disconnected are you from reality? RP is a dark corner of the internet that hardly anyone knows about.

Shit, you can even CHEER about a man getting his penis cut and KEEP YOUR JOB in the media:

http://www.mrctv.org/videos/sharon-osborne-leads-laughs-about-male-genital-mutilation

Imagine a man cheering/joking about female genital mutiliation, do you honestly believe he'd keep his job as an anchor or talk show host?

Also, look at this commercial:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRXrhTL5u0E

This is PURE redpill: Look at that woman leave her extremely average looking husband for an alpha and even verbally confirming it. It's pure hypergamy/dual mating strategy. Tell me again that society doesn't push these messages out through media/advertisement.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Both instances (the Michelle Obama joke and the penis mutilation) were heavily criticized by women and the media in general.

[–]PhokusProgressive-Lazy Christian-Leans RP 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

I don't think they were heavily criticized. Michelle Obama correctly thought she could say it without too much condemnation, and really only conservatives and reddit MRA's criticized her comments. Men = dumb, women = smart is a common theme on TV and belief women have, don't be daft. SHARON OSBOURNE KEPT HER JOB. Again, you have to imagine a man joking and cheering on a woman getting her clit cut off. Do you honestly believe he'd keep his job as a media personality? This question only works if you're honest.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No he wouldn't keep his job, but neither should Sharon Osbourne, and that's something to protest about and take offense with her company with, and not all women.

[–]Phokus1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

But Sharon Osbourne DID keep his job. I mean, jesus christ, a man joking and cheering on a woman getting her clit cut off wouldn't even have the episode air or would cut to commercials or 'technical difficulties' if it was a live broadcast. That's the point. Men are disposable and there's an implicit agreement that putting down men is ok in society.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Men aren't disposable, they just have joked about women for so long that the tables have turned, but we haven't reached a place of total equality in whats fair to say about each gender. But to spin this into men being totally oppressed while women have nothing but privilege is extremely wrong.

[–]Phokus1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Sorry, but women have near complete control of the media. You're absurd.

And the idea that men are disposable isn't a recent phenomenon. In ancient days, if a village has most of it's men die out, then that's ok because a few men could impregnate the women and they could grow the village again. If most women died out, then they'd be fucked because there's only so many women who could give birth to repopulate the village. That's why society was setup the way it was in those days: men did all the dangerous work while they tried protecting women.

If men aren't disposable, then society would care that the overwhelming majority of workplaces related deaths are from men, more men commit suicide, etc. etc. etc. but they don't. Instead we march for breast cancer awareness while nobody marches for cancer related to men.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Do you genuinely think women had a choice in their place in society in ancient times?

[–]Phokus1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No, of course not. But most men were also given a shit sandwich too. The chieftans/leaders of the villages had harems of women and didn't have to do the dirty work while the rest of the men did the dangerous work.

What i'm saying is, just admit that women basically control the media and what's acceptable to say and not say in society nowadays.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No, I'm not going to admit that, because it wholeheartedly isn't true and you haven't shown me any evidence to convince me that they are.

And okay, those women in the harem. Did they have a choice to be there? I'll answer that for you, no, they were frequently raped and kidnapped from their homes to be part of this harem and leaving or having sex or intimacy with any other man was punishable by torture or death. Real sweet deal they had.

[–]Phokus1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Media created by and consumed by women. Also remember: slut shamers are mostly women, not men.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/19/science/a-cold-war-fought-by-women.html?_r=2&

Stigmatizing female promiscuity — a.k.a. slut-shaming — has often been blamed on men, who have a Darwinian incentive to discourage their spouses from straying. But they also have a Darwinian incentive to encourage other women to be promiscuous. Dr. Vaillancourt said the experiment and other research suggest the stigma is enforced mainly by women.

Women need to stop shaming women. Stop bringing men into this.

Why is Rush Limbaugh still with a job when he makes fun of a female politician not for her policy, but her looks? You didn't disprove anything I just said except for citing the example about women mostly being slut-shamers, which I agree that most of them are, but your point was completely irrelevant to my point.

I understand why TRP thinks the latter -- that sexism is a tool. I don't understand why they think it isn't perjorative, the way they use it.

None of that had anything to do with my point. My point is that even if you think that (I don't), sexism is still pejorative.

A pejorative is a word or grammatical form of expression that expresses contempt, criticism, hostility, disregard and/or disrespect.

Would you like to address this point, or continue to sidestep it?

You can be as big of a cunt as you want, but that doesn't make you any less wrong.

Oh, so:

continue to sidestep it?

Gotcha.

Aren't you the same clown who had "The Rapist Pill" or some such bullshit as your flair?

Nope.

any man who still has contempt for women hasn't accepted their nature and will never mature enough emotionally to properly lead a relationship.

Okay. What about the other definitions of pejorative? Do you think TRP means to criticize women with their sexism? Do you think TRP's sexism is disrespectful toward women? Like, when TRPers say that women are incapable of telling the truth, or that they're motivated b nothing but drama, or stuff like that -- is that disrespectful?

Why is the truth disrespectful?

Partly because it's not the truth. But only partly for that reason.

these types of natural gender roles are the main contributing factor to the survival of our species.

This is where you're going to get disagreement from non-RPers. You're assertion that there are natural gender roles seems scientific, but do you have any science to back it up?

I agree that gender roles played a part in the formation of our agricultural society at the dawn of civilization, but what makes those gender roles "natural?"

I think this is the heart of the debate.

[–]GridReXXThe "XX" in my name means I'M A WOMAN 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think by natural he means "his preferred ideal."

Because if you need TRP or a how to guide, I would not call that natural.

[–]Spleeniator 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually, a lot of gender roles are much later then that! Agricultural societies are far more egalitarian simply through nature: your wife cannot look after the children cause if you don't farm, you die. The kids are also farming, as soon as they can. Very young ones, after they no longer need breast milk, are looked after more communally or by the elderly.

Source?

Poverty stricken agricultural societies today. Africa. You get the idea.

The division of home/work lives existed for the wealthy during the Middle Ages (sorta) and when factories came in.

But farming? Nope! Peasant woman farms, peasant man farms, peasant child farms. Hell, peasant grandmother farms.

Subsistence agriculture does not allow that sorta stuff.

People can disagree with us all they like, but even in the extremely egalitarian modern Nordic societies you still have clear division in preferred career types which is further evidence that gender roles do form naturally.

I wouldn't say that's solid evidence. Just because men and women are equal under the law in these countries doesn't mean there are social pressures that push people toward certain careers.

There was a documentary done about this that I believe was already debated here more than once.

I've seen it. I don't put much stock in it. Very little of it is based on science, like maybe 5% of the documentary. The reality is that science isn't advanced enough to establish genetic sex differences. The closest we can come right now is looking at how testosterone effects brain formation. Just for one example, we know that a little testosterone likely increases intelligence while too little testosterone likely decreases intelligence. Thus women with high IQs have higher than average (for a women) testosterone, while men with high IQs have lower than average (for a man) testosterone.

That is the closest we have for scientific evidence as this is a burgeoning field of scientific study, unless you count every single successful civilization in the history of ever which were built on the backs of Patriarchs with the support of women.

I don't count that as evidence. For all of your points, you have used inductive reasoning to defend your position. Inductive reasoning is good so far as suggesting theory. Deductive reasoning is what's needed to prove theory.

So for your last point about patriarchy, inductive reasoning can offer the solution you presented, but it can also offer alternative solutions. Perhaps societies operated in patriarchies because women are inherently physically weaker and couldn't stand up for themselves. Perhaps agricultural societies had a gendered division of labor because early agriculture required brute strength. The only way to know which solution/theory is correct is to test them. Unfortunately, these theories aren't quite 100% testable right now. So for now, since so little can be proven with deductive reasoning, I choose not to take a stance. I don't think you're theory is wrong, I just think it hasn't been proven wrong or right, nor will it be for 50+ years.

In a similar way, we don't know what actually causes gravity. We can guess. In fact, someone could inductively reason that "god creates gravity." However since that theory and many other theories are untestable, I choose not to take a stance on the matter for now. This is the gist of why I choose not to take the red pill. I'd rather admit, "we don't know the answers" rather than speculate what the answers are based on extremely limited information. Scientists have to theorize because it's their job, but I really don't.

Absolutely, and I'm sure you know the conclusion which will be drawn from this fact and how it applies to the topic at hand.

Do I? I think that knowledge further complicates our understanding of the world. Are physically strong high T men dominant? Or are more intelligent low T men dominant? In our society, I'd say it's the latter. IQ gets you further than brute strength. So would TRP call low T males alpha? I don't know. I think this topic highlights the rapid change our society has undergone. Today we value vastly different traits than we did 10,000 years ago. A baby born with type 1 diabetes and an IQ of 170 would be immensely valuable to modern society, but completely useless to ancient society.

Until something better comes along we must work with what we have.

I guess I can't really address this subject, because I've never needed anything better. I developed decent social skills early on and I can maintain relationships quite well (my current relationship is 5 years old). My techniques are very far from TRP, but I've never struggled in the sex or relationship departments.

bias... confirmed

Which is how most people, even the most intelligent humans on the planet, often form their opinions. I do admittedly dislike how TRP claims a position of logic, when TRP is no more logical than any average opinion on this earth. Is their logical involved? Sure, but there's also tons of emotion and bias. It's just human nature. As far as I know, the scientific method is the only known way to minimize or eliminate bias, and TRP does not strictly apply the scientific method ("strictly" being the key word). Heuristic is the word I would use to describe the nature TRP strategy. I feel like TRP claims to have a deeper understanding of the world. To me, heuristics can be effective, but they aren't "deeper understanding."

It is my job to be the most successful and happiest man I can be, and by educating myself about human nature, sexual dynamics, biology, and the history of civilization it has led me to several different strategies of dealing with the world, and RP has come out on top time and time again.

I suppose what qualifies as fact and education varies from person to person. I think your atheist vs believer metaphor is apt. Some people legitimately need religion to function, and some people don't. TRP is obviously very different from religion, but it does share at least one similarity in that some people can't function in their romantic lives without something to guide them. So while I disagree with TRP about 80% of the time, I see why men seek out these types of things. I think there are better alternatives. One user on this sub posted a few links to Mark Manson's stuff a few days ago and it seems more reasonable. But the point is I see why some men go looking for answers.

So you've lived on 3 continents? So have I. I've found that this "men have it so hard, we're so put upon" seems largely confined to North America, although I came across it a little in England. Australian and European men are much more varied, in that you'll find raving "women are no better than pets and need to be beaten to keep in line" misogynist (our prime minister is one) shoulder to shoulder with "men are nice people, women are nice people, how about we work together instead of at cross purposes" feminists. Not so much "men are victims" mentality though.

Misandrist legislation? Such as? Women and men are both pretty loud, ignorant and aggressive at times. What lies have I told about Abbott?

[–]TRPACC1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah, misandrist legislation and practices, framing DV and abuse as gendered, from a gov level down. Its being taught in schools.

You know what lies you told about abbott, you made false accusations relating to beating women.

[–]workerbeebuzz1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's a matter of public record that he physically threatened several women and actually assaulted one whilst a university student. It's also a matter of public record that he was arrested for bashing a fellow (male) student.

In what way are Australian DV laws gendered? Because, as a mandatory reporter, I have found it much easier to access assistance for male victims of family violence, especially men with children seeking refuge.

It's a matter of public record that he physically threatened several women and actually assaulted one whilst a university student. It's also a matter of public record that he was arrested for bashing a fellow (male) student.

This was your accusation.

""women are no better than pets and need to be beaten to keep in line"

In what way are Australian DV laws gendered?

Not so much gendered, the is a gendered application of them, and the DV system is informed by feminists, who have an unrealistic and misandrist view of DV and men and women.

Also shared parenting legislation was overturned in the basis of fraudulent and misandrist claims, made by feminists.

I have found it much easier to access assistance for male victims of family violence, especially men with children seeking refuge.

You mean men were able to bring their children to hostels full of alcoholics and elderly people.

Have you read Abbott's work as a student, where he voiced his distaste for feminism, contraceptive choice, atheism and the education of women?

Yes, men -especially young, gay men - have been placed by social workers, at my request in safe houses. In family violence situations, it is most frequently the father or stepfather who is the instigator of violence. Female on male violence is usually taken much more seriously than male on female violence by first responders, but less seriously by peers.

[–]TRPACC1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You still haven't addressed the lies you told about him.

that he believes that "women are no better than pets and need to be beaten to keep in line".

Yes, men -especially young, gay men - have been placed by social workers, at my request in safe houses.

You have skipped onto gay men - after you made a dubious claim about finding men and their children refuge - how did these men even get custody, in that situation she has custody. So what you described would be kidnapping under Australian laws.

it is most frequently the father or stepfather who is the instigator of violence.

Nope, the research on patterns of DV show its most frequently the female.

Female on male violence is usually taken much more seriously than male on female violence by first responders, but less seriously by peers.

I see, so first responders who are guided by feminist policies, take f - m more seriously than m - f. But that belief is totally reversed in the general population.

I'm wading around in feminist lies here.

[–]workerbeebuzz1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Firstly; that's what he wrote. Secondly; you don't appear to have any idea about what constitutes kidnapping under the Westminister system. Thirdly; my research comes from the Australian Beaumont of Statistics and the Victorian Police taskforce on family violence: Where does yours come from? Fourthly; female on male violence is where she's hitting him. There's actually a "men at risk of homicide" register, primarily for when the woman can't take the beatings anymore and poisons him. Fifthy; why are gay men not men? Finally; are you just being vexatious for shit and giggles?

[–]TRPACC1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Firstly; that's what he wrote.

Don't believe you.

Secondly; you don't appear to have any idea about what constitutes kidnapping under the Westminister system

Someone who doesn't have custody rights taking children is kidnapping. An abused man fleeing the home, will not have applied for custody rights at that point.

Thirdly; my research comes from the Australian Beaumont of Statistics and the Victorian Police taskforce on family violence:

Australian GOV lies about and covers up womens DV from the top down, police records are not reliable because men under report and Australian women commonly use false accusations as a weapon and divorce strategy.

Where does yours come from?

The consensus of the family violence DV research community.

There's actually a "men at risk of homicide" register, primarily for when the woman can't take the beatings anymore and poisons him.

Yes, because when women kill men, they are the victims and its his fault.

Fifthy; why are gay men not men?

I didn't say they weren't.

You tried to pretend you were easily finding DV refuges for men fleeing with their children, even though this would constitute kidnapping in Australia. Then you said you find help for gay men in particular. I'm just keeping your story straight for you because you can't.

Finally; are you just being vexatious for shit and giggles?

I'm not being vexatious. You are telling all these lies. And I am responding to them.

[–]workerbeebuzz1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Custody isn't awarded until after a formal separation has been legally recognized. You do realize this, don't you? This can take months. Flight for safety and protection of a minor is legally enshrined under our safe haven laws, as passed by Prime minister Bob Hawke in 1983. DV is under reported per se. Primarily violence against children and older people. False accusations of violence are grossly outweighed by false assurances of non violence. I'm not pretending anything. Young, gay men (teenagers and young adults) are far and away the most common male DV victims. Young fathers are easy to place, frequently in safe houses and PCHN units following PNP episodes by a new mother. The safety of the minor is the primary concern, and if that minor is being held by his father/grandfather/big brother, then they go with him. I don't know why you think I'm lying, because you seem terribly unfamiliar with even basic premises of custody, parental rights, safe houses, social care and judicial responsibility.

[–]TRPACC1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Custody isn't awarded until after a formal separation has been legally recognized. You do realize this, don't you?

Yeah, that's why a man who hasn't been awarded custody just leaving with the kids is kidnapping.

Young, gay men (teenagers and young adults) are far and away the most common male DV victims.

Feminist propaganda that erases women's violence. Gay men are the least likely of both men and women to experience DV. DV is most common in lesbian relationships, then heterosexual (and its female lead), then gay male relationships. Men are most at risk in heterosexual relationships.

I don't know why you think I'm lying,

Its because I caught you out lying and you are repeating feminist lies.

You just disassociated with your own mentality and opinions because they look so grotesque when paraphrased back to you.

You are proving my point about the female mainstream being worse than trp.

I think you need to take a good, hard look at yourself.

[–]TRPACC1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Right, I need to adjust myself because you are a government employee in a misandrist country thats saying these awful things that are at least as bad the worst of trp, and that's your normal.

[–]workerbeebuzz1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Misandrist country? Oh dear, you really are delusional.

Define what you mean by offensive? I don't find it offensive. I just think both sides are filled with desperate idiots.

[–]TRPACC 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

One side is the female mainstream, the other is a depicted as a evil subculture.

[–]lilbsavedtherapgame 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not female mainstream at all. Hahaha.

[–]TRPACC 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Right, so the manners for men book, cosmo and the rules and all the similar best sellers are examples of underground / sub-culture like rp is, not mainstream women's culture.

Because it's sexist to say that Cosmo, Fiddy Shades all those other things are wrong.

[–]Time4RedBlue Pill Man 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

How is that sexist? I would call Cosmo very sexist. I would call Fifty Shades sexist as well.

[–]VarsitySlutTeamCptI'm on mobile. 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Well I dont see anyone trying to get it banned..

[–]Spleeniator 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are plenty of sexist things people don't try an get banned. Such as te bible. Or lord of the rings. Or the dragon lance books.

Feminists, such as myself, are by really for shit like Cosmo. Or fifty shades. Or fucking twilight. Actually, a lot of us hate twilight.

We will deconstruct it, hate it, say its problematic and go on to say 'but whatever, you have agency, read what you like, we think it's shit'

Plenty of things on earth are sexist. The mark of how sexist something is is not whether or not someone has tried to ban it.

Because censorship is lame? You don't just censor stuff you disagree with.

You don't just censor stuff you disagree with.

I wholeheartedly agree. Tell it to your fellow BluePillers and feminists, please, it seems like they haven't gotten the memo yet.

Tell the guys that post batshit insane shit on TRP to stop doing that.

There are crazies in every litter.

You mean the ones who have vocally spoken out against censorship?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean the ones that are trying to censor us.

[–]la_sabotageTerp Terp Terp 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So... none of them?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't TRP ban and censor anything they call "tone policing"? I'm not even going to make that a question actually, because its straight up fact.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Banning things on your own subreddit =/= trying to get laws passed that violate the first amendment

When it comes to censorship, you guys sure are the champions, don't worry.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't understand... when has TBP ever taken something to court? TBP rarely even bans Terpers unless they start doxxing or pointlessly singling out and harassing users.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not TBP. Feminists.

[–]lilbsavedtherapgame 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Get it banned? How do you ban books again? People speak out against it's shitty narratives, that's good enough.
