So this is something that I have noticed from my interactions with men and women in both online and IRL situations.

Men give too much importance and women give too little importance to sexual/dating history of their prospective partner. A good proportion of men that I know of do care a lot about the sexual history of the woman they are interested in romantically. Although I can understand about preferences and I, more than anyone believe that everyone's preference should be respected irrespective of how ridiculous it may sound. But sometimes, my fellow men seem to fixate too much on their sexual history ranging from body count to serious relationships to ex boyfriends etc.

On the other hand, a lot of women are totally chill about the sexual past of the guy they are interested in, provided they are not serial killer or a sexual predatory or some infamous playboi. And yes, there are women who actively avoid virgin men but I have always found them to be an extreme minority that need not be given any significant consideration. They are okay as long as the guy intends to have a serious committed relationship with her. To an extent this feels logical as past can be overlooked as long as the right person is ready to settle down with you. But unfortunately, a good proportion of women I know have taken this to an extreme that they get together with guys with history of abuse to their ex-partners, serious alcohol addiction etc. One reply to why choose to neglect sexual history, that I got, was that they are, in a way, forgiving themselves for a promiscuous past that they lived/ dreamt of living. But this has always been an unsatisfactory explanation for me.

So what do you guys feel about such a difference between the attitude of men and women, if at all you feel such a difference exist?
