A coworker and I had a discussion about reproductive rights yesterday, and he had an opinion I'd never heard before. He said that if a couple (married or not) decides to never have any children, the only one who should ever get "snipped" is the man. His explanation was that, even though it's a mutual agreement to not reproduce, that "nearly all" men depend on the subconscious knowledge of their woman's fertility to find her physically attractive.

According to him, even if a woman is 8/10 or 9/10, if he knows she is infertile (either naturally or deliberately through surgery) he'll never be able to see her as that level of attractiveness because of it. Like, she'll actually lose a point or two of SMV in his eyes.

As someone who doesn't want kids and thankfully has a vasectomized partner, this doesn't make sense imo. Although I was pleasantly surprised to find he couldn't accidentally get me pregnant, that only added a point to his relationship value, it didn't change his sexual value since that's solely his looks. Unless a woman had a noticeable scar from her permanent birth control surgery, I don't see how the mere knowledge of her being infertile could literally make her less visually appealing. This obviously goes double for an attractive woman who was simply born infertile.

I figured it'd be an interesting discussion to have here.

If you found out a hot woman you were dating was infertile, would she become less sexually attractive once you had that information?

Does this answer change depending on whether you want kids or not?

Would knowledge of an attractive woman's infertility actually cause you to not want sex with her at all?
