I know the title sounds doomer but humor me. I found a couple studies that seem to indicate that there is a downward trend in males being born compared to females since the 70s. Its already well known that boys outnumber girls in terms of births but thats typically due to boys being more likely to die earlier in life so it tends to evens out, but if the trend continues we may start seeing a world where women are outnumbering men in the far future.

From the numbers it seems to be a very small decline year after year, something like .1% at most. Even the UN projects a even 50/50 gender ratio(due to aging and other factors) by 2050. Considering the rather rapid decline in testosterone in men and knowing the mortality rates it means in the distant future men could be outnumbered by women.

Would anything change? If so would it be drastic? Would we see a reversal in the importance of which sex is more valuable? I know most of us won’t live to see the results but it should be a slight cause for concern.
