Many hot women do not know that they're hot, or at least don't walk around thinking that they're God's gift to the male gender.

Many hot women think they get hit on a lot, or have lots of dating options, due to men's general horniness. Or they assume that this happens to all women (neither of which are entirely unfounded).

So the idea that hot women will only date hot men is erroneous, as they don't view themselves that way in the first place.

They may have more dating options, and this may make them more selective, but hot women are not any more demanding than average women.

Average women and hot women want the same thing, which is someone they feel attracted to and connected with.

Connection really is absolutely critical, yet it is hardly ever mentioned here.

Having said that, looks are critically important, and I think it's idiocy to deny this. But 8/10 women (if such a thing exists) do not go around thinking "hmmm...I'm 8/10 and this guy's only 6/10, there's no way I'm going to get involved with him". They either feel attracted to you, or they don't.

Also, women discern your looks differently. You will never appeal to everyone, but some women will really like the look of you. These women could be hot, average, fat, slim, black, white, rich, poor, it really is entirely unpredictable.

Just make the best of yourself, don't get discouraged by rejection, and keep plugging away until you find the women who are into you.

The most pathetic thing is that low smv men who date beautiful women end up cheating on them more often than if they'd dated within their league. Something about the inequality prompts them to even the score before anything even happens.

It happens, we're people with brains capable of immense things, not insects with a live feed breed die brain. We do all sorts of things that are anomaly's for millions of reasons and often times more then one reason at once. There is no simple catch all for human behavior.

Womens attraction isn't composed of purely physical looks (in a way mens is) and the psychological factors of that man are so attractive that they are "total attraction matched" even if they aren't "looks matched".

The girl I lost my virginity to at 17 was literally 10/10 and at that age I really wasn't in the best shape. Even how I am right now after I made effort to improve my appearance and personality I've been told I'm 7/10. So regardless that girl was hotter than me. When guys from school saw me with her they were literally like "holy fuck that's your gf???"

It was a combination of a few things, but mostly pure dumb luck. I had a Tumblr where I mostly wrote fanfic. The Tumblr fandom scenes are all majority awkward nerd girls. This girl messaged me on Tumblr out of the blue one day when I reblogged something about BDSM. We got chatting and eventually met up.

Because she was the shy awkward nerdy type she was not going to parties and getting hit on by guys 24/7. She also seemed to only be willing to enter BDSM relationships which wrote most guys off for her instantly.

So even though I'm certain she could have gotten a hotter guy than me easily, she mostly socialised online so didn't have guys in front of her hitting on her IRL all the time, and she liked me because I was into the same shit as her sexually and we shared similar interests outside of sex too.

But there is a big catch and I've said this many times. The girls who were willing to go out with me despite being significantly hotter were crazy. This one was no exception. She cut herself all the time, cried all the time, and eventually dumped me for a married 50 year old.

But hey I had great fun with a much much hotter girl for my first time. We even fucked five times in a day at one point. I had to keep her on a pretty tight leash... no I mean literally ;)

Nobody is "average" in all ways: everyone has a strong suit and a weak suit. If you want to date hot women then approach hot women and lead with your strong suit. If you are jacked then show your abs in your Tinder pic. If you are a good talker then work on day and night game. If you are good with the written word then use other online approaches.

These situations occur because of the way society is nowadays, almost all women feel like they're "very hot women" through the validation received through the loads of men on Instagram, Tinder, etc. This causes the true "very hot women" to not be able to distinguish between themselves and the rest, causing them to misinterpret their own attractiveness.

I've dated and hooked up with a lot of girls on Tinder that were objectively hotter than me. You certainly don't have to meet in your social circle, you just have to be interesting and fun to them through date 1. Female experience on dating apps is pretty shitty a lot of the time so it's really not too hard to stand out.

I think there's an equal number of very hot men and women. Makeup skews things. A woman can enhance her looks dramatically with makeup, so I think you can have an average man, who looks like he's dating a very hot woman, but he's actually just dating a really good artist.

Or is it the combined fact that society generally doesn't hold male "beauty" in high regard and women have the ability to give themselves an additional 1-2 SMV points by using makeup if they choose to? I'm thinking of how one of my younger sisters has a worse face than me (a 7) in reality due to acne marks, discoloration under her eyes, the fact she smokes and drinks almost every day, and doesn't eat vegetables...but when she puts on her makeup she's a solid 9. I would generally agree with this, but unless you can accurately prove that people are objectively "hot," this is just speculation. More accurately, I think that women are more attractive than men by comparison.

So if everyone "looksmatched", there'd be a ton of single women. This is good for guys.

That's not exactly the point of the argument though. People aren't really looksmatched, nor do they seem to want to be. It is in the interest of our genes to pursue people with higher quality genetic material than our own. "Breaking even" would be rather pointless and unnatural in the context of our species. In nature, "the best" win, and the losers are phased out.

I also don't see how you would think this would be "good for guys," and also how you suggest that there would be "a ton of single women," assuming that everyone would be monogamously paired with one partner and stay only with their partner. You also ignore the bare-bottom portion of the population. I'd guess that there would be more single men than single women, which isn't "good for guys."

In addition, people on reddit have talked about how men looksmatch or even date down with online dating.

Maybe if they're desperate for love to a fair degree, but women don't typically date down at all unless they find a good enough reason to (which would include the loneliness of being single).

If you'r an average guy and you want to date hot women, it's gonna have to come from social circle or approaching.

Or everyday occurrences such as working together, or striking up a friendly conversation because you both happen to be in that place at that time for whatever reason.

In regard to the overall discussion in the title, "average men" date "hot women" when women perceive something of benefit from those men that elicits an attraction response from them. Otherwise, there is no reason or cause for them to date.

women have repeatedly and consistently said that we dont rank men's attractiveness based off looks alone. a hot girl will date a less attractive guy if his other qualities like coolness, status, wealth, humor, personality ( i mean actual personality, not how nice and pussy you are to everyone) are high.

male and female coupls don't always looksmatch because the most desirable men aren't necessarily the hottest. absolutely there is a general trend of people dating roughly in their league, but i used to work with legitimate professional models and their boyfriends were often scrawny looking DJs and musicians and shit. but these guys were cool af and super well known around town

when people say they see "average" guys with hot chicks, they really mean they see average-lookong guys with hot chicks. the issue is that male SMV isn't 100% based on looks. a guy with an ugly appearance can still have a relatively high SMV if he has the right attitude, good social skills, status, money, huge dick, whatever. his appearance may be average, but his overall SMV is probably relatively high.

what doesn't happen are hot girls dating average looking guys who also have submissive shitty attitudes, no social skills, no friends, no status, no money, and a small dick.

How is this being quantified? More hot women than hot men? At first I agree with you, but as a straight male I don't know how to rate men properly. Since I'm not attracted to men if I had to rate them it might be slightly lower than it should be. This would skew the results to what your saying but would be incorrect.

I think it depends. In general you will get somewhat less attractive women based only on your looks when using things like tinder - but not always. Usually if you meet someone who's unusually good looking on tinder it's because they recently started using tinder and you're one of the first matches they got - they aren't aware of the huge amount of choices they have.

I don't think you necessarily have to lower your standards though. If you can manage to communicate your strengths and personality well through your pictures and bio I think that can work really well. However, most guys don't really think that much of their online social media brand, so most guys don't do this. In fact, most guys have terrible, awkward pictures, it's no wonder women find their profiles unattractive.
