men can look at a woman (or just a picture of a woman) and decide whether she is hot/not, fuckable/unfuckable.

it doesn't work that way when women look at men. very very few men are going to be either definitely fuckable or definitely unfuckable based just on their looks. most men are going to be "maybe" until she starts interacting with him and figures out what kind of man he is.

the incels make the mistake of assuming that it works for women the same way that it works for themselves (male solipsism). they assume that it's a very binary yes/no type of thing based entirely on looks. so when only 1% (or 0%) of men are so hot that they are fuckable based just on their looks, they assume that all other men must fall into the unfuckable category. they don't understand that it's NOT a binary yes/no thing for women. the vast majority of men who aren't a solid definitive yes at first sight still do have a chance depending on how it goes when they interact with her in person.

Women are attracted to a wider variety of men than men are to women. What women have is a "looks threshold." In other words, you need to be this hot to qualify for further relationship/ONS/STR analysis. Once a guy reaches that threshold, we begin judging his other qualities

This is also why women are guilty of the "just be yourself" advice - we take for granted that men realize we have eyes and need physical attraction

Looks matter, Steve Buscemi is a top 1% man catch wise, he's a rich, internationally famous, funny, movie star. There's a reason that he's still not lusted after like a guy like Chris Hemsworth is. They have all the same qualities except one is exceptionally attractive and one isn't. It certainly isn't Chris's personality that they value over Steve's.

The data I saw has it more like the top 15% of the population, but yes. Why the change in female behavior is because now everyone is halfway entitled to a mate. There isnt the one rich caveman wifing up the whole village.

The personality aspects of men matter to women because without them her survival rate, and her offsprings survival rate take a nosedive.

Women use makeup to look better than their "default" appearance which I believe accounts for the discrepancy in male and female attractiveness: women find less men attractive because we don't have makeup to hide behind.

Disagree. I think female attraction is more detail oriented, diverse, and idiosyncratic than male attraction. In fact the smaller percentage of men who are universally attractive to women suggests this.

Male attraction is a simpler and more universal “algorithm” : a full up-down body assessment of stuff like waist hip ratios, etc. The men on this sub could rank 10 random women pretty quickly imo. The women would be arguing about minor details for ages. One girl likes lanky heroin chic dirtbags; another finds few things more repulsive. One girl loves hypermasculine steroidal beefcakes; another genuinely likes borderline androgynous prettyboys. And not only archetypes but minor details are divisive. A guy’s mustache is a debonair gomez adams vibe to one girl and a disgusting “get in the van little girlie” rape stache to a different girl. For men, such details are contextual to a much more consistent and universal heuristic.

Another thing. Too many people confuse the lower overall demand for casual sex among women for a much pickier attraction standard. But seriously if Chris Hemsworth went door to door with fresh STD tests and an invite to fuck, a much higher percentage of women would turn him down than men would turn down.... idk Kate Upton (who is banal to me but I’d still fuck her in a heartbeat) or someone like that.

Basically this is a lie men tell themselves that makes it easier to contend with being distinctly average, as most humans are. It’s much easier to just wave it off as sour grapes and finnicky hypergamy. But in reality men who are brazen and don’t shrink in the face of rejection can find themselves very rewarded by the diversity of female attraction.

If women weren't attracted to 99% of men they have a funny way of showing it. I've seen too many women get nervous and awkward around guys because they find them attractive. As red pill says, you cant force sexual attraction. If women were not attracted to 99% of men, nothing could change that. Yet 99% of guys get laid, so your hypothesis is flawed.

As it has been said before, most womens level of physical attraction goes on 3 scales. Will not fuck, open to fucking, and will fuck unless he does something stupid. Most guys are the second category. As in, talk to her, show intent, make her attracted with your presence, and you will be fine. Attraction is as much mental as it is physical.
