He’s not making his emotions her responsibility, it’s a date, he’s being upfront about his past relationship and where he’s at mentally,

It happened 3 YEARS ago and he's still being affected by it. He hasn't sought therapy or help for this thing that is so traumatic, it haunts him years later.

Anyone who is bringing up what an ex did 3 years later, clearly isn't over what happened and no doubt this trauma will affect his relationship with the woman he was on a date with.

He even says he likes to take things 'emotionally slow' because of what happened with his ex. Note how he didn't say 'sexually slow', just emotionally slow, meaning low effort and lack of commitment for a long time.

As a woman who is serious about wanting to marry and have a family, men who want to 'take things slow' are a huge red flag, we don't have forever to wait around for him to decide when he's 'moved on' from what his ex did to him, could be years more, could be never.

The most sensible thing to do would be to go to regular therapy to process and move on from what happened in a healthy and timely manner, not do nothing and bring it up on a date 3 years later as an excuse for 'being emotionally slow'.

This has nothing to do with being bitter and 'shrivelled up' or lacking empathy, this is to do with men's attitude towards how women should behave.

You fully expect a woman to just accept and accommodate the fact that he wants to 'take things slow' because of something that happened with his ex, no questions asked.

Women can't help you heal from an ex/trauma, you know what can? A trained professional.

Original commenter asked for a specific example. You provided. I continued based off that example. What’s not clicking? “Assumptions” and “accusations”….Ok. For the sake of argument, since you’re right, I don’t know you, let’s say you have never used “slut” “whore” or “thot” in your life or associate with any guys that do. Tell me, how often do you hear “scrote” irl? I wish there was a statistic on this because you know just as well as I do that they are nowhere near the same level in terms of use.

I’m not saying “scrote” is right but why are you so offended by it? It’s used in one small corner of the internet. It’s a reactionary term to the slurs commonly used against women. You seem mad about this but not the actual slurs?

You could delete Reddit today and never have to see the word “scrote” again. To say that that’s your biggest gripe with FDS as that was your immediate example….I think it’s telling.
