Men seem so bothered with complaints of any kind. Or really anything resembling "hamstering", looking at anything more than just at face value. Understandable, reading into anything tends to lead to it's total deconstruction. Not necessarily a problem unless it's deconstructing something one benefits from.

The idea of not listening and continuing to do it anyway doesn't seem to occur to men. Complaints means an expectation of compliance.

My theory is that it's related to deterioration of male dominance. In every scenario, groups gaining equal ground are essentially being told by the dominant to be quiet. Because those that are quiet can be easily overlooked. The quiet don't have to be accommodated.

Q4men:

Why automatically feel you have to comply with other's complaints?

What happens if you don't comply?

Does complaining have a purpose?

What's the better alternative to complaining?
