Its a moving target that is always going to be relative to your peer group. The only way I see is to define your peer group.

If you're 40, but willing to date 18 year olds, your criteria is going to be different than two 40 year olds that want to get together, and the only way to communicate that is to specify.

Either that, or you agree upon debit factors for all different ages and come up with a universal rating system, so that a 7/10 references 10 people from all backgrounds and not just your peer group.

Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark) is an average-looking woman. So is Maisie Williams (Arya Stark). The latter is still much hotter than the former.

Why does there need to be some correction here?

People get uglier as they age. The 75 year old bachelor probably doesn't look great, and his level of enthusiasm is going to be through the basement.

Average only matters when it's about the average person I'm typically surrounded by. In my case, that's middle-class twenty-somethings of a diverse racial background. Often in college or just having finished it.

Take a sample of people on game shows on TV (Not specialist ones). Rate, split into a couple of age catagories and find the median. They are average people.

Let's say a guy has a question "Am I of average looks?" well obviously he's really meaning "Am I of average looks to the women of the age range I intend to pursue?" So maybe he's a 25 year old interested in women from age 18 to age 27. Obviously if you look at the 18 year olds in his target demographic they are going to be considering guys in (for most part) the 17 to 23 year range, to get them to consider him he'll probably have to have really good game. The 27 year olds will probably be considering guys from age 25 to age 34. And in between of course each age cohort will have their preferred range. Maybe they'll even have a core preferred range and an extended range of maybe. So he's obviously to some extent being compared to 17 year olds AND 34 year olds... but not by every woman. So you've got to include where he falls compared to that entire age range but weight certain ages more heavily than others. IDK, does this make sense? Maybe someone who loves numbers and has therefore put more effort into them than I have knows how to write this sort of equation.

Anyone between 18 to 28(29) using Tinder are pretty much running around America humping anyone they are remotely attracted to... thats the image in my head.

People my age (mid 30s) tend to have families and are "settled" so exclude them too.

You need to consider average as a direct medium from the entire collection. All the way from worldie - not long left in the world. Otherwise specify your group, age included.
