If they can get a hundred guys paying 25 bucks a month they will be making 30k a year doing this. So that's like 2 people per state in the U.S. Usually super desperate guys who probably refer to the girl as their girlfriend and think that she is seriously into them. Yep. Over the summer I was hanging out with this fairly popular MFC model (I think she said she was routinely in the top 100-250) and she easily took in over 200k annually. When people do this there is no way to track the money so they don't usually report it as income, therefore it isn't taxed. That's technically tax fraud, and so when you report someone like this there is a good chance they didn't report the income and can be audited and fined

I am also confused, but from reading the comments it seems that premium snapchats are for people to sell racier photos (nudes). I think the assumption is that these people are not paying taxes on the income from their premium snaps, so by reporting them to the IRS, they might get audited and be penalized for the unpaid taxes.
Of course, as many comments have pointed out, there's no way of knowing whether or not someone pays taxes on their snap income. If they do, it will be very simple to prove to the auditors and move on with life. But if they don't....tax evasion.
I haven't verified the info but I've also seen it said that if you report someone and it's confirmed they're not paying taxes, you get 15-20% of the untaxed income as a reward...
Quick Google gave me the answer that whistleblowers can be rewarded 15-30% if the amount in collected exceeds 2 million in taxes, penalties, interest and other amounts. The reported individual must make more than 200k a year. Below those thresholds, the reward is discretionary.

Unfortunately, I "fell prey" to this. Luckily, I've passed it off as a learning experience. Those snapchat girls basically tease you and make you want to see more and after you buy their premium, they: 1. Hardly post and 2. Post content that is hardly stimulating.

Depends on the state but most services do not fall in the sales tax area. Which would be state tax fraud not federal.
I have no clue at what point the IRS would start an audit on someone but they might nab a few "high profile" cases in the 100K range just to scare the plebs into shape.
I doubt the tip tops are reporting it. They are screeching all over here, twitter, etc about getting audited. To be a gift and qualify for the exclusion (for 2018 it’s 15,000) there can’t be anything given in exchange for the money. In the case of this interaction it is clearly implied that stripping or nudes are provided for the money.
That said. Any income that is excluded from taxation beyond a minimum total for a year to determine how much you actually made is a sham and basically using loopholes to avoid doing your part.

Yeah, this is unnecessarily petty in my eyes. Sex work is still work. Whether you agree with it or not, they’re still selling a service. Sex work continues to exist because there will always be men who pay for private Snapchats and other forms of sex work.
Can we really blame women for seeing an opportunity to make money and taking it? As well as this, you don’t know the circumstances of these girls. Who knows, they may be working three jobs to provide for their kids and they have to do this as well to continue to make ends meet. Not that it matters though. Even if they’re just doing this for a bit of extra cash, they still shouldn’t be judged because they’re just fulfilling a need.
One of the main arguments against this is that these women take advantage of lonely men who can’t help themselves and get ‘sucked in’.. but in that same vein, can’t we argue that we are all responsible for our own purchases? You likely wouldn’t blame a liquor shop for selling to alcoholics so why would you blame one of these women for selling to a lonely man? Anyways, it isn’t like they don’t get something out of it. Many of these men don’t have contact with women in their lives or use these services to fulfil a need that they have. Sex work undoubtedly improves the lives of many patrons of these people who provide said services.
They aren’t hurting anyone, merely providing a service and fulfilling a need within society. Surely they can’t be blamed for this because there are no moral consequences to it.
The main argument against this is that they are supposed to pay the taxes (even more if you consider this a legitimate work), but yeah, those ancaps that bitch about taxes and then denounce people to IRS are fucking hypocrites.
