We just use "boy" and "girl". He usually answers the phone or greets me with a "hey girl" and I will say stuff like "I love you boy". I'm not really sure how it started, but that's what we use!

Besides the usual names ("Hon(ey)", "Babe", "Dammit, woman, stop f*cking up the toothpaste!!"), the only real nicknames we have for each other play on our age difference. He's the "creep" to my "weirdo", for example, which sounds horrible until you realize that "Creep" by Radiohead is our song (it's...a long story).

My fiancé and I speak French to each other (it's our mother tongue for both of us) so our pet names are in French. I will link to the pronunciations.

In French the word "baby" is translated by "bébé", so usually I call him "bé". Sometimes I will call him "amour", which means "love", or "chéri", which means "darling" (for men).

He sometimes calls me "bé" too, but usually he calls me "chérie" (same pronunciation as its male counterpart "chéri"), which means "darling" (for women).

I call him 'darling' or 'sweetheart' when I'm being extra sweet on him. 'Hun' 'love' 'dear' most of the time. We call each other 'baby' during sexy time. When he is turning up the sweetness he calls me 'princess'.

My bf and I met on Starcraft... Among others (babe, love, etc.), I also call him by variations on the screen name he was using when we met. :D He also calls me "babe" or "love", unless he's feeling funny in which case it's "bitch", "slut", "ho", etc. It's all in fun, of course!

He calls me monkey occasionally, the nickname had some relevance to him from when he was younger (his mom had animal pet names for the boys). I call him panda. I just picked an animal. It stuck :P Or just the usual sweetheart/sweetie, he calls me babe. (Lol auto correct wanted me to put bane..)

We come up with pet names as we go, use them for a while and then drop them until the next inside joke/pet names come up.

I call him sexy, he calls me beautiful. Other than that ill call him love or handsome, and he will call me love or sexy.

Not very creative but it works for us. Cutesy names (those ending with a y sound) just never felt right. He actually just called me cutey today and it threw me off for a moment!

Occasionally there are some other words used but thats for a different thread ;)

He is honey to me so often that calling him David feels a bit awkward :) like calling your mum by her first name.

He calls me sweetie, honey, baby, bubby, lovey, lovey-dove, and sweetie-B (a play on sweet pea). He's baby, bubby (or bubs), love, or lovey. Bubby and lovey are probably my favorites. I don't really know how they started. He does tell me when I'm being a "good girl" or he will get all cute and go "Who's my good girl?!" but it's not really a nickname. Occasionally I get baby girl and that makes me melt all over the place.
