I feel you are missing a couple of points here.

You do all of this for yourself, not for women. If you are aspire to have A 'hollywood smile', becoming tanned and also becoming a 'Gym enthusiast' for the sole reason of attracting women, then you are still a beta, just in an alpha body (Not that a beta would be able to achieve any of that). Ultimately you should do that stuff for yourself. And there is not a single person on this planet that feels better and more confident by being fat compared to being fit. Fit here doesn't mean muscular and huge. It would also describe your soccer player or marathon runner.

Going to the gym is advertised here because it makes you more confident while also more muscular (better looking). All else equal a muscular guy will win the women vs the fit endurance type of guy. Now if you rather play soccer (you should do it then at least in a club, eg train multiple times a week) or do triathlon feel free to do that. But training for soccer at a certain level also includes the gym...

Yeah I think the getting big thing is a very American thing. Here men are in general less muscular and more of the fit type. There are also far less fat men and women. So even as an average or skinny guy you can get a decent, non-fat women. As always take what is important and adapt it to make it fit your situation. Still it's better to be skinny and toned than just skinny.

Anyway you do it for yourself to be more confident, look better. This will have effect on women but you should not only do this to get laid. It will also positivity affect your career. A big and confident guy by default gets more respect and his opinion will mater more (if he isn't a complete retard). And of course health. It might be hard now and you ask yourself why you should do this just to score with Lilly Landwhale but if you keep it up and then in 10,20,30 and 40 years look at your same aged peers and their quality of life you will be rewarded greatly.
