90%+ of people have zero interest in talking to a stranger. Imagine if someone walked up to you and said “Excuse me, can I talk to you real quick?”. You’d probably just say “no thanks” and walk away unless the girl was super attractive, in which case you’d probably be suspicious they were trying to sell you something or harvest your organs.

Cold approaching on the street is a terrible strategy. The 100 cold approaches doesn’t build confidence if you get rejected 100x. Try talking to people in a more organic way where being talked to is expected (e.g. bars, hangouts, group activities, parties). If you really need to approach strangers, make it about something you are doing in common (e.g. standing in line at a grocery store). You don’t want to come across as creepy/trying too hard to pull girls.

You might be coming off as trying too hard.

The conversation/interaction has to feel organic and natural. Not forced.

Try commenting about the situation or place first and then introduce yourself. Make some small talk for a couple minutes and then say "well you seem pretty chill, can I grab your number quick?".

If you do get her number text her back that night. The woman will never take the initiative. And don't let her "Take down your number." She'll never call or text you back ever. It's just a cop out.

You need to make friends with someone already good with women. He will be able to see things about yourself that you can’t see. Also, hopefully you can go out and game together and observe his interactions with women and understand how it’s done and what’s possible.

Once you polish whatever needs polishing, things improve rapidly. It’s the finding of what needs polishing and the polishing itself that takes time haha. Good luck.

Without knowing you, I'll have to say it's generally image or vibe, often both. What would help us give you more specific advice is to see:

What you look like.
How you present yourself as a person. But this would require a video of yourself.

With regards to your image, you can say you wear proper fitting clothes, you're not a greasy bum etc... that's all great and it helps. But it could be as simple as you being meek and soft on the approach, and it makes her say no on first impressions. Hard to tell until we know more.

Cold approach during the day, the rate is what would be expected unless you are top 1-2% of social skills or looks. People are busy doing stuff and usually do not have time/interest/energy for that. Night game rates are far better.

Well done on the approaches, it’s hard to say where things are going wrong without talking in my depth.

My recommendation would try this out in more social settings like a bar/coffee shop etc.

In terms of the cold approaches on the street, just keep at it, just don’t go with the intention of asking for a date/number. You may be getting too focused on a result and the conversation comes across as unnatural.

I don't think being skinny and feeling timid are the real issues. I've seen very thin guys do good. I've got a friend who's quite skinny, underweight for sure, and average looking get numbers in the streets after opening with "do you know where place X is?" Or even "do you know at what time they air Dragon Ball today?". He isn't ultra ballsy either, sometimes he spends a few minutes following the girl deciding whether to approach or not, because he's scared. But he knows what he wants, that is he has a true desire to fuck, so he just blurts out something, makes introduction then asks for the number. When he sees a girl in his mind he's already feeling arousal and desire to fuck. If you don't feel it you can't force it. Maybe you're just all stuck in your mind, all technical, have no clue what to do or say because you don't know how you feel about approaching nor have any idea exactly what you're looking for, and this makes you go to them completely clueless and with a terrible vibe. It's your mind saying "look man, if you want we can go to her but I tell you, we are just wasting time for you don't know what you're looking for". I had the same experience, circa 100 approaches and just one number or two. I thought approaching would solve things but then I discovered I was approaching them without having figured out WHY I was really talking to them. What did I want, a gf? A hookup? I wanted to meet them, talk to them, or only have sex with them? Was I really prepared for success or just wasting everyone's time? Etc. Sometimes it would then happen that a girl would really strike a chord in me, making me feel deep desire to meet her, stay with her and have sex with her, and I would just go to her and blurt out what I felt for her, and in those instances it usually went great. Somehow if you act like a robot you get nothing, but if you're moved by your inner, natural, instinctual and sexual drive, and you let it express yourself, things tend to go well.

Cold approach is hard.

Minor thing that might help:

1 - do not directly approach a woman. And especially do not approach her from the rear. First case is you set off a defensive reaction, in the second case, you set off a fear reaction. Try approaching from a forward angle where you can be seen but not be seen as aggressive.

2 - Practice smiling and opening in a mirror. Or record yourself on video so you can see what you look like and sound like.

3 - Out of 100 approaches, at my best, I might get 10 numbers. I will sleep with 1 or 2 of them. This was me in my 20’s and I’ve more or less settled down a lot since then. Still dating the last woman I cold approached over a year and a half ago.

For example, if you are 40 and short and fat and you are approaching stunning 18 year olds and you live in the UK, then you could be doing everything PERFECTLY and you'll still get rejected 300 times in a row

the above is nonsense you keep telling yourself. You should get at least 50% of "they don't blow you off" on approach. They can blow you off after you open especially if you have the finesse of a drunk bear at a picnic table, but definitely not before or during your firsts ball.

Non-bum looking people who do not make other people uncomfortable by their mere presence who engage in pointless exchange of phrases are going to get the ball tossed back at them around 1/3 of the time and get a volley going about 1/3 of that time.

P.S. No, it does not matter how you open it. You can compliment. You can interrupt. You can excuse yourself. You can excuse her. It. does. not. matter. You are just getting her attention. There's a split second in which she decides if playing your ball back is "safe" ( and humans in general like playing the ball back ). With you all of them decided you aren't safe. That's why you get zero results.

That's alright OP (not my intention to be/seem pacifying), there must be some things you gotta figure out. To begin with, if they are not even ready for a reciprocative conversation then it's absolutely for the best, that they come off as cold shoulders, as soon as you approach them. On the other hand you must evaluate whether you are able to engage those who do respond: if the answer is yes, you are good. 50 is way less of a number, considering the manifolds in how much you are gonna get approached by, later on.

That’s the expected results from doing spam approach. This is why I don’t like doing it.

Imagine handing out fliers to random/strangers out there, how many do you think would give you a response, not even a positive one? 1-2% result is the standard. So if you hand out 100 brochures, probably only 1-2 will respond. They already have it in their mind that you’re spamming so they decided instantly soon as they saw you that they won’t give you their time.

Now imagine the other way around. Have you been to costco, sams club, or even to a mall where there’s chinese food and they just hand out food samples with a tooth pick? You as the employee don’t even have to say anything to customers. They will talk to you because they know they’ll get something out of you.
