Texting is the best way to drive a woman right out of your life even if they like you. I used to be big on texting but you literally exposition dump your entire life/week on them every day and then when you meet up what are you supposed to talk about? Also the whole not knowing the emotion or facial reactions to things being said. You are 100% more likely to say something stupid and fuck the entire thing up texting than you are in person.

I prefer talking on the phone too but what if she doesn't pick up or return your call? I feel like if she is not responding to my text she won't pick up my call. I guess you need establish this during the approach.

IF YOU REALLY liked this guy why didn’t you call him? Why didn’t YOU text him “let’s hang out” or “I want to FaceTime”. Why the hell does he have to know what YOU want and initiate it. Clearly texting wasn’t the problem because if I wanted to talk to a girl, I’d simply call her or tell her to “let’s go here”.

I agree that texting isn’t sustainable but lord help my soul… Why not meet your interest at least half way instead of just stunning him because you expected him to know you.

I'm a woman and I see your point but I disagree. I love talking on the phone with a boyfriend. But when I'm in the initial dating stages - I have a pretty strict filtration process that a guy needs to "pass" first. My method for determining compatibility in the early stages is by analyzing how, when, and what a guy is texting me. I have unique questions to get to know him and see if we're a match before talking on the phone or agreeing to a date.

Call me a hardass but that's why my coaching clients are so successful in dating. If they can pass my strict filter, they can pass the filter of most women. I DO tell them to try to get her number early on but if she declines - it's not indicative of her attraction. It just means she's not ready or she needs to get to know them better first.

I feel like it's important to accept that you aren't compatible if you aren't willing to accommodate a person you are interested in and go find someone who gets you. I love hearing someone's voice but if the information is important I want a text so I can look at it and remember. My daughters prefer texting and will not answer the phone unless it's me or other close friends. I'm basically the only person they talk to on the phone which is kind of them.

texting is a fantastic way to find out how invested the other person is in you. if i text you romantic or hot stuff, or just text you so much that meeting in person would have easily fit in there........and that move to real life meetup never happened - shows how much REAL interest is there.

and from there on you can move on.

It looks needy or desperate
It seems like you have nothing else going on in your life
Higher potential for miscommunication
No mystery > no curiosity > boring > unattractive

In the initial dating phase, texting should only be used for setting up dates.

The truth is that texting is the norm and the one or two people that do call you stand out because they’re doing something different which is also a bit riskier. But what if, after this post, you now have like 10 guys calling you? That’s a lot of phone calls that take up a lot of time and it’s hard to multi-task while speaking on the phone. Chances are that, by that point, you’ll prefer texting. Extreme example, yes, but I think you should stop speaking authoritatively as if there is only one solution.

Not saying you’re wrong, I personally prefer calling myself but I do know it has its downsides.

I wrote about this before, but let me write about it again from the perspective of someone who has hundreds of daygame approaches under his belt:

I call instead of texting, because my experience with texting was that some girls don't even respond, many others text with me for a while just to go silent later for no apparent reason, and only a few would go on a date with me. With calling, most girls are down to go for a date, and it's easier to set up the logistics of the date - just one quick call instead of multiple messages back and forth. Not sure yet why calling works so much better than texting - I do have a few ideas as to why that is (plus there's what OP said, also worth considering), but that's not really important - it just does.

Women almost never respond to my call attempts unless we’ve already been on a date and built rapport. It’s too confrontational for a lot of them if you only briefly met in person or met online. If they’re even the slightest bit unsure about you (which is usually the case unless, again, you’ve already been on a full blown date) they won’t pick up because it makes it a lot harder for them to decline as opposed to text. And when they don’t pick up, then what? Voicemail is probably a worse option than texting, and if you make the call you’re pretty much all in on it. Calling then immediately texting is pretty much a double text.

I don’t think it’s quite fair to say texting is for little boys with no confidence. But I understand where you’re coming from as someone with a bush work schedule who doesn’t prefer texting.
