Hey guys.

I alluded to it in my most recent field report but I have found recently that I had been suffering from what I call approach apathy. I think this is common among many PUAs and it's been seldom written about.

What is Approach Apathy?

Approach Apathy is different from the typical approach anxiety. It's a phenomenon that happens after you've demonstrated consistent success to yourself. You KNOW you have the ability to pick up girls. You KNOW how to manage yourself in field and isolated with girls. And yet you find yourself not approaching regardless. Not out of fear, but out of... apathy.

What causes Approach Apathy?

  • Laziness - You just don't feel like going through all the motions after the approach. This can be because of good reasons, like you've got so much vagina in your life that you don't even have the desire to add anyone new. But, if you find yourself both sexually frustrated AND lazy, that's a bad combo.
  • Stress - Maybe your job, or family, or money problems have you stressed out. No matter the cause, being stressed out will slow you from being able to get in state. You will find yourself being that much less likely to approach.
  • Lack of energy - If you're working yourself to an early grave, or living a very unhealthy lifestyle, you might find yourself just lacking physical energy. This will exascerbate your apathy towards approaching.

How do I overcome Approach Apathy?

  • Wingmen - Find some good friends who are fun, outgoing, and willing to go out on a regular basis. Good wingmen will zip you into state much faster than you could on your own. And all experienced PUAs understand how important being in state is to having success in the field.
  • Resting - Take a day off from work and just recharge the batteries. Go hang in a coffee shop and do nothing but browse reddit, or read a book. There are any number of things you can do to destress yourself and give yourself some energy.
  • Going Out Consistently - I know it sounds like it contradicts the previous bullet-point, but it's true... RSD refers to a phenomenon known as "Macro Momentum." It's the social momentum that you carry from night to night. Eventually, with proper rest and forcing yourself to go out into the field even when you're feeling apathetic, good things will happen. You will find that receptive girl, or that perfect HB9.9, or that awesome new friend. These things will not happen if you do not put yourself in the field.

Don't let yourself stay in a state of approach apathy for too long. It can exascerbate other problems such as depression, procrastination, laziness, and general malaise.

Almost every one of you will find yourself in a state of approach apathy at some point in your development. Nip it in the bud as early as possible.
