True. I find myself outright neglecting self improvement in the way of finances when I'm involved in game. Being lonely doesn't help. Being desperate for sex doesn't help. All you want is to hook up and satiate your lust so you can concentrate on money but, in many ways, you need to have your money issues sorted out before you can hook up. It's a vicious circle.

Money makes you more desirable to women, because it demonstrates stability and allows for more leisure. Make enough money, you're bound to find someone. Even if the reasoning is shallow, let's face it. A lot of people base their lives on shallow reasoning.

I'm on the other side of this coin now - love wise this year has been a major dud so far, but having loads of fun with my startup! (which I could definitely not dedicate this much time and energy to if I were worrying after girls more. Hard to find a good balance though, being single / not getting lots of action is getting annoying too at times)

as a generally broke person I'll say this:

let's say money doesn't attract women at all. what it does still do regardless however is give you a certain peace of mind that you'll never have if all you can think about is finding your next job, moving out or after pay day where the rest of the money to make up your rent is going to come from, so on and so forth.

back in the real world, where money makes you a more interesting person to men and women, that peace of mind makes it easier to have a social life (in terms that no event or form of transport is too expensive), you'll be less intimidated by women who earn more than you/ are on a career path to earning more or come from a richer social background than you.

I've never been rich but when I do have a decent amount in my pocket I don't have to worry about petty things like "can I even afford to go out and buy one drink at the moment, much less go on a date or get into a cab for a 1 night stand without having to ask her to pay for me?"

A girl will pay for you if she's interested and you're broke but that's not the point really, it's just that a lack of money brings about limitations and limitations bring about a negative mindset which is bad for your game and of course for your life in general, mentally and financially

I am not sure I agree with this personally. I found myself more motivated by being in love and wanting to provide for that person and having a successful future together.

Can't agree more. Every hobby/passion/topic I cared about vanished the second I found someone to sleep next to. At best the became a mean to an end (us). Spent all my life pursuing hobbies because I couldn't have someone. Now hobbies have no value. The irony is that this thing blew up in a week. Now I feel both the void of her and the disinterest of past passions.

I think you guys are missing the point.

This man is saying that he wants money, and that's it. He doesn't want love, happiness, challenge or women. He wants money. I've read the book, in it he describes how to become a dynasty, not just rich. He doesn't care about anything else.

I'm not so sure about this. I mean it depends on what kind of ambitions you have. I've always felt that to be in love with someone is to be inspired to create your best self. To become someone for them. Maybe I just get this from Rilke's letters to a young poet but I think it is true.

The key is balance. Worry too much about money and don't develop any dating skills due to lack of time and you'll be a doormat/golddigger bait and still clueless in your 30s. Focus too much on women as the end-all be-all of happiness and you're bound to be left disappointed and possibly broke.
