Rachel Green! Love her but come on, really?? Ross was such a jerk. He was condescending to his friends, boring, and the whole debacle over her job at Bloomingdale's was atrocious. He gives her a hard time because she's always working late. Sorry, should she take her job less seriously, or should she go back to waitressing?

And he can't respect her boundaries about not visiting her at WORK, keeps reaffirming that he doesn't trust her with her male coworker, and then the night they break up he's emotionally maladjusted enough to straight away sleep with someone else.

And the way he refused to accept they'd really broken up! She could have done so, so much better.

Carrie and Charlotte on Sex in the City, but especially Carrie. I think someone in this sub wrote a great comment about how the entire show and movie was just about her being a forever gf to Big with him even leaving her at the altar and she still takes him back!

Anyone else think Pam from The Office? She stayed engaged to a guy she had no interest in, then cheated on him when she kissed Jim. Watching them pine after each other got old. She never stands up to Michael much either.

Also, after they had started out as kind of friends, she got kind of catty to Karen (who is as close to a HVW as you cn probably get on this show) because she was jealous. She couldn't just move on.

And as much as I love her as one of the few likable, funny characters on this show... Amy from The Big Bang Theory. She's brilliant, accomplished, but she waits hand and foot on this giant ball of selfishness named Sheldon. He almost never showed any appreciation for her but she kept trying. She deserved better. Penny should have gotten with Sheldon because they're both bad but somehow get along great.

In the movie, Silver Linings Playbook, the character Tiffany played by Jennifer Lawrence was a pickme for sure. I used to love this movie. Saw it at least 5 times. I used to think it was such a cute story, but thinking about it now, Tiffany could have done so much better then try to get picked by a psychotic teacher (fired from his job) who convinced her to help him in his obsession of getting back with his ex-wife (who had a restraining order against him).

She is a beautiful, very intelligent archeologist with her own home and he just destroys everything she worked so hard for just because she doesn't want to be alone.

I am not calling this woman a pickme but I am at a crossroads because I just finished watching Flavor of Love for the umpteenth time lmao.

I LOVE New York and I always felt she exhibited Queen Energy™ but since FDS I question it and idk where I stand on it. I adore her glow ups, general attitude and confidence but she deserved so much better, she got played and turned down by Flava Flav TWICE on his show. So idk where I stand with this and I want opinions.

Olivia Pope from Scandal. I LOVED this show when I first watched it. On the rewatch a few years later I realized she is just standing around waiting for years for Fitz to leave his wife. She is a boss in every other aspect of her life, but she lets this man control her. I actually thought it was a great love story back then. 🤮

Frankly speaking, any wife or girlfriend character from those godawful sitcoms - Everybody Loves Raymond, The Big Bang Theory (I hate Sheldon Cooper with a passion - I hate all the misogynistic nerds on that dumpster fire of a show, I refuse to watch more than 2 minutes of it) etc etc. All the female characters live miserable lives, attached to insufferable LVMs.

This isn't from a TV show, but broadening it up to your standard LVWs across media in general, I have to say MJ from the Sam Raimi Spiderman films is the absolute worst. First, she dates Harry but has an emotional affair with Spidey/Peter. Dumps Harry and starts dating some dreamboat in Spiderman 2. Even though she has everything she wants, she still isn't satisfied and ends up dumping dreamboat guy at the altar to run off with Peter. Then in Spiderman 3 she's bitchy again because her career sucks and it's somehow Pete's fault. She cheats on him with Harry (Jesus Christ) before the credits roll. It sucks because in the comics MJ is 100% HVW but Sam Raimi and screenwriters screwed it up and destroyed her character to the point she's unrecognisable.

Lisa Cuddy from House. Girl is a hospital admin making absolute bank, she’s gorgeous and brilliant, she adopts a child after experiencing infertility, seems happy and she has everything going for her. But she risks her job all the time letting House pull stupid and dangerous shit... because it’s House. Literally, that’s her reasoning half the time she allows his nonsense. Plus, the whole show she does nothing but date LVM trash. (Okay, bad, but most shows have this problem with the way women are portrayed re: relationships with men)

aaaaaand then she starts dating the misogynist, obnoxious, selfish prick that regularly makes insulting comments about her appearance/sexuality at work, in front of her coworkers and bosses. Then she doubles down and brings House’s drug addict ass around her child and it’s honestly just nauseating to watch.

And then he basically tried to kill her and her daughter, so that choice ended as well as we expected 🙄

The girlfriends in Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I hate that fucking movie with a force of a thousand sun. What do they even see in that loser? Geez. He cheated on his first girlfriend for Ramona but he is still the good guy? Fucking ridiculous.

On the flip side I love Ben in San Andreas, not only is he a good brother, he risks his life to save Blake (The Rock's daughter in that movie) even when they only chat for a few minutes. That's a rare high quality budding relationship in a Hollywood movie - and I tend to find healthy characters in nature disaster movies more than any other genres.

Marion Ravenwood from raiders of the lost ark. Indiana had a relationship with her when she was a teenager and he was in his mid 20s then left. When he shows up again in her life, he's not there to apologize, not to ask for forgiveness, but because he needed something from her, she jumps right back into a relationship with him. He then leaves her at the alter pregnant. Raiders is literally my favorite movie of all time but Indiana was an asshole who ran from all his responsibilities. Edit: sorry, not tv ,but its the first that popped into my head!

omg..i was just watching seinfeld and did a random google search and found this thread. George is the biggest scrote ever. And Susan is the pickmeisha supreme. She new the whole cigar thing and it got her cabin freaking burnt down. The worthless punk got her fired smh. I hate George viscerally
