I’ve been following this couple for a while, and they seem so genuinely happy and unbothered by the (ridiculous) amount of hate they get, from men and women alike. Just a bunch of jealous pickmeishas and arrogant LVMs who continue to stay pressed and feel the need to bring people down.

I just looked at their profiles.... What do they do for work?

I believe they’re both college aged or just out of college. I have no idea where they get their money from as they do give each other lavish gifts pretty frequently. She has been outspoken about it not being her parents’ money but not sure about her boyfriend. They’re pretty tight lipped about it.

Whenever I see those extravagant social media accounts I'm always like "wtf do they do???" I'm over here buying stuff at GoodWill because I'm trying to buy another home.
I also wonder if ppl who do spend money extravagantly are living paycheck to paycheck.... Sure I could buy a LV bag but I've got retirement funds, emergency savings, and house savings to put my paycheck toward.

To be honest, I find conspicuous consumption and the Trumpy aesthetic that goes along with it extremely distasteful (and low value AF). And I’m someone who loves makeup and clothes and is wearing perfume just to stay at home—by no means low maintenance lol. I honestly don’t think happy couples (or happy people, really) seek validation on social media for being big spenders.
[–]luvmyvulvaxoxoFDS Disciple11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
You're probably right. But I don't go on social media much so when I see expensive clothes or lifestyles a pang of jealousy hits me. I don't think about their life beyond "I wish I could spend $200 like it's $10"
[–]a-shrinking-violetFDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As a beer budget and champagne tastes kind of girl, I totally understand the struggle! But for me, there’s a difference between buying nice things because you genuinely enjoy them vs. for validation from others, and social media accounts that focus on luxurious lifestyles seem to be doing the latter. It also seems especially crass nowadays considering the economic devastation from covid. So I don’t feel bitter, I’m more like, wtf. I guess I just don’t understand some people. 🤷♀️
[–]AnniaTFDS Disciple4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have no idea who they are nor do I follow them, but if they're such a famous couple, maybe they get sponsorships and get things paid for them and money from sponsorships and gifts. Maybe in addition they come from money and make smart investments. It could explain their life style.
[–]miloba_FDS Newbie7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Oh, absolutely. I wonder the same, but I don’t think it’s my place to criticize a person on how they spend their money or for whom, like a lot of those who publicly question them in their comments. I stay in my own lane. I’m making my bag, I’m putting into my savings, and I’m accomplishing my goals. They’re not bothering me and don’t owe me any clarification around how they earn their money. That’s just how I see it.
[–]luvmyvulvaxoxoFDS Disciple8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Wasn't meant to be a criticism. I'm focused on me usually, and I have my mindset and what I think is normal. So the few times I do see lavish lifestyles that's where my mind wanders.
[–]miloba_FDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No, not saying you were criticizing! But a lotttt of people in their comments do, so those were the people I was commenting about 😊
[–]goblinwiseauFDS Newbie0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
it just depends on what you like and value. for me, i value freedom. a designer bag would do absolutely nothing for me and i would sell it in a jiffy to put the money towards financial freedom/independence.

Love seeing this!
Unfortunately, thirsty pickmeishas are dragging her on her looks and “IDGAF what he does for you”. Really sad that they feel the need to bring women down over this!!

im sorry come again they're dragging her on her looks? she's GORGEOUS.

I think she is gorgeous! But most importantly she knows she is gorgeous and he knows it too XD

It’s because envy hits people like a freight train and they don’t know how to properly deal with it. Unfortunately, envy tends to bring out big heaping piles of hate in people, instead of realizing that changing their ways could result in having what this lovely couple has.

“IDGAF what he does for you”
LOL there's literally 4 photos in this single twitter post showing what he does for her, must be hard on the brain for them to be in a LV mindset XD

For men who think we're 'gold diggers' too, thoughtful and kind gifts don't even require £££s either.
[–]NewDriverStewFDS Newbie86 points87 points88 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Imagine seeing a jar full of notes and some tealights and jumping directly to "gold digger" lol
[–][deleted] 49 points50 points51 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Most of these scrotes that love to throw around that word "gold digger" don't even have any fucking gold to dig, that's the part that irks me the most.
I cannot imagine Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates calling any woman a gold digger, it's scrotes that earn minimum wage with about $500 in savings that love that word.
[–]AnniaTFDS Disciple10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, it's always the broke guys that cry about gold diggers. Like what gold would we dig from them. And as I always say, even poor guys can wow a woman. It's all about the effort and care. Even a guy with low income can fill a jar with notes, buy some chocolates, light some candles, prepare a bubble bath, cook a romantic dinner at home, write a beautiful note, organize a picnic in a nice park, etc... this doesn't require that much money. It's about love, care and effort and a man who love us and cherish us will feel motivated to do so regardless of his income. These bitter pickmeishas are just jealous, and these bitter LVM are also jealous they could never have a mutual loving and satisfying relationship either.
[–]ToasterIIFDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly! In HS I had a friend who was very poor but he would always give his gf the most thoughtful gifts you could imagine - think origami roses made by himself. All of them were like under 5$ but still managed to be awesome. It really opens your eyes to see that the budget is not the problem but the person.
He discovered recently that he's gay. Still a genius and a very thoughtful person.

If I get married and someone doesn’t call me a gold digger then I did it wrong 😩
[–]HoneyBouquetFDS Apprentice[S] 31 points32 points33 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ive already been called one by my guy cousins and I aint married yet 🤣
[–]AnniaTFDS Disciple8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I had a boyfriend who would listen to me saying I needed a new bag/ wanted a book or cd or something like that and he'd wait a few days and give them to me out of the blue. He'd also surprise me with taking me out to dinner or preparing romantic dinner home for no special reason or celebration. This doesn't require lots of money nor did I ever "gold dug", it just shows love, care and effort which is what's all about.
[–]cosmic-rebirthFDS Newbie33 points34 points35 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm happy for both of them! But... boasting is distasteful, it seems like her entire persona is bragging about what a man does for her and receiving validation from strangers. That is weird.
[–]textbasedpandaFDS Apprentice10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I also find that weird. It wouldn't personally bring me any fulfillment but I support her happiness!

I just personally would enjoy this treatment in private, posting things like this comes across as performative to me, even if it is genuine.
Ps: why one option in the 365 jar is "we're doing this" like what does that mean and why does it sound so demanding? If she were to say no what would he do or say? She should choose that not him on some pre-written note.

When I used to have Twitter , I followed them. They’re so cute and she’s absolutely gorgeous! I’ve seen him in comments defending her and their relationship before too.

The candles are making me nervous after seeing a news story about a guy burning down the apartment doing something similar. But I like it otherwise!
