My hypothesis for this is straight forward:

men tend to be attracted both to feminine and masculine women;

women tend to be attracted to masculine men more;

toxic masculinity is a dangerous output of the mindset required to be a useful man, and showing it off in self fulfilment is machism;

toxic femininity would be a dangerous output of the mindset required to be a useful woman if it was considered harmful, and showing it off in self fulfillment is charming;

disrespect and sadism are caused by self entitlement, so that's why they're more common among women, but it doesn't show in the newsb

violence is caused by testosterone and men can rely more on it, but everyone can make use of the amount they can produce.

So in the end: many men and women are attracted to edgy personality traits, both can enjoy a bit of masochism, but the inequality here might be in spotting harmful traits only in physical or extreme psychological violence, and we still struggle to see it in women.
