Feminism is like Communism... Unable, or unwilling to acknowledge and learn from their own history. These "no man's land" "utopias" existed in the 1960s and 1970s and were an unqualified failure.

If they ever get this project off of Facebook, it will once again be an unqualified failure.

Today's loony ladies fucking wish things were as hard for them as their forebears. The simple truth is today, they are actually receiving benefits they aren't even entitled to. I always thought it would be funny to see a whole bunch of these SJW feminist types move to one of the Nordic countries they gush about so much and then ruin it there too when they find out that the abortion laws are far more restrictive than Texas, there's a tax subsidized state religion, whale meat can be bought in the grocery store and free college tuition is only available to those who can do well enough on high stakes testing at a young age.

Whenever something broke, they would need to call-in a man to fix it. I don't think that was something they ever freely talked about, though.

As for this project in the jungle, would these independent gals pour their own concrete? Sort of reminds me of Nietzsche's sister's scheme for Germans in Paraguay.

Now this is something I can agree with the (literal, self-identified) radfems on: I would llllooohooove to see them try to start their own utopia, relieve us of their annoying presence and liberate themselves from the products of the "patriarchy" (such as the power grid and medical science, for starters), and let us see how it goes. My prediction: they won't be lesbians for long, or even be able to tolerate other women after a few months of it.

I first checked wiki for separatist feminism. Hmm... they talk about it but little action. Describes one attempt; it lasted a year. More talk, talk, talk... no other attempt covered.

Next tried google; turned up a recent Huffington Post article on separatist feminism attempts. An artist, Leah Duvan, took the effort to locate and sympathetically photograph past and present separatist feminism communes and wrote about them: Our Hands On Each Other. I haven't read Duvan's book but if the included photos are representative, then it's beyond pitiful. I'm actually surprised. I come from a ranch family and I've known women more competent than this.

This will never take off. If it does there is basically no chance they'll make it to some unpopulated space in south america.

/also nice save with the "oh we haven't raised and money because people want to donate too much and we're uncomfortable with that". I'm sure that's what happened.

Existing most famously in feminist theory, the lesbian separatist communes of the 1970s called on women to claim lesbianism or celibacy and move out to rural farms deemed "womyn's lands." Today, some feminists are trying to revive the idea.

If these communes didn't survive at all they're probably not the best idea ever... But let them try it again, it will be a breath of fresh air if the most hateful ones leave civilized society.
