I'd initially feel kind of bad for him, but if he's happy with the decision, then I'm happy for him. My friend's sex life is none of my business, because I'm never going to date him. I would never fuck or date a man who has paid for sex, but it's irrelevant when it comes to friendship.

I have two friends who've admitted to paying for sex but not because they were sexually unsuccessful. When they mentioned it I had a passing "ugh" moment but never really thought about it again unless it came up. They're still my friends, I guess the only impact is that I'm less likely to set them up with a girlfriend.

If the reason they did it was because they couldn't get it elsewhere then I'd have the same reaction except with more sympathy. I'd also wonder why they're so unsuccessful and - if appropriate - try to help.

Assuming nothing else wrong (the prostitute is there of her own free will and is of age) I wouldn't care. I'd rather he keep it private as with anyone's sex life but that is all.

I honestly don't mind at all. If my friend thinks it would help, then I support him. If he just wants some fun that is fine too. I know a couple guys who have bragged about going as well, that is a little ick because some of the things they did didn't sound safe, but they had fun and I was still friends after.

I am for legalization though.

What kind of friend are they? Work friend, hobby friend, good friend?

If they are the first two, why are they telling me this?

If they are the last kind, I would assume they are giving up hope of getting someone high quality, so hopefully they are not high quality themselves.

I'd be most concerned that he took a few steps to avoid using someone who's trafficked or addicted or something.

If he went to an independent hooker, no big deal. If he took a trip to Hunt's Point, I'd be worried about him as a person.

TBH, I'd think it was kind of sad. Only because I love my friends a lot and think that they are smart and funny dudes. They didn't have to waste that money to have sex. I wouldn't stop being friends with them though.

If it was my bipolar friend I would be like, "Okay, if it helps you." He's the only guy I can think of whom I wouldn't be squicked out by being told that, not just because of the judgment factor but because I'm not that close to my other friends that I want to hear much about their sex life.

Not only did my best guy friend confess to using a hooker several times; he told me he was considering letting her move in with him. I don't judge people for paying for sex, although I did remind him that there is a high risk of getting robbed, or worse (no high class hookers 'round these parts). this gal was only 22 he's 45. Yeah, she cute but he had him feeling for sorry her and giving him all these sob stories. Thankfully, I am a good friend who doesn't judge, but will knock some sense into your brain. She had 3 different facebook pages, showing off new clothes, fancy nails, and had several men still requesting her. Finally convinced him that was a horrible idea. This girl didn't want to be rescued, she was living it up.

He had this Pretty woman fantasy and is still a litte depressed over it 2 weeks later. He's a nice guy, just not what most women are looking for in terms of looks or economic status, I do feel bad that he basically has to resort to this type of thing.

I would likely have to reclassify him a bit in my brain. I would be concerned that he made sure the sex worker was not being coerced into the situation and hope he used protection.

That said, I have a lot more experience with friends who have done sex work than who have paid them... (artists, man)

I'd think 'ugh' because the whole prostitution thing sets women up as service-givers of sex to men. I'd have to put it out of my mind to continue seeing him in the same way as before.

But in another sense, I don't care. It's just sex and my friend is not romantic partner.

If I found out my partner ever did it, it would immediately change my view of him. My partner doesn't believe in paying for sex. I wouldn't intentionally go out with a man I knew had used prostitutes.

I really don't care. I want to hook up with or date a man who is purely interested in my status and money. Either a male escort or a foreign sugar baby type. Its on my bucket list. I am fully ok with anyone doing that. Its not the action of paying for sex, its the conclusions people make about sex work or people who pay for sex, or the act of paying for sex that bothers me
