Instead of creating an AskSeddit, I bet it would have been better to create AdvancedPickUp (or something like that). People who are looking to get into this are going to find this subreddit first and then may or may not read the sidebar - then even if they do they are going to want to submit their question to the more active subreddit.

By creating AdvancedPickup, then all the people who are here a lot or just want out of all these beginner questions would actually go to APU. In other words, there isn't much incentive for a beginner to leave a more active general forum for a less active specific forum (/r/seduction to /r/askseddit) but there is incentive for advanced people to leave a broad general subreddit and go to an advanced (specified) one.

As a general rule, I'm ok with things phrased "what should I have done" vs. "what should I do".

A lot of the noobies really need to understand that there are no "magic bullets", as with ANYTHING in life. There is no one particular line or routine that will get the girl that's guaranteed to work, and that's just the way it is! It's all about experience, learning, and growth.

There's r/askseddit for questions like that. I come here to read and learn from FR's and from sidebar-worthy posts

I didn't get much support at the time, but here is a conversation from a year ago.

Maybe we need to put a warning on the submission page?

Maybe someone can create a bot that automatically posts the routine answers where appropriate?

This happens with every popular subreddit. With more numbers the quality goes down. The most dangerous part of this is that bad advice gets upvoted. I think the mods should be more aggressive with getting rid of bad content. I know most people don't like heavy-handed mods. But it's for the greater good.

I think r/seduction probably just needs another mod whose sole purpose is to remove posts like that and redirect them to askseddit

Agreed. While 'what to do' stuff is okay for the newbies IF they still learn and practice what would really interest me is life transformation stuff. Inner game, accomplishing goals, getting away from canned stuff and crutches. I think we are all in agreement about this as the latter threads are the most popular, not the most plentiful though.

Exactly my sentiments. And also a reason why I created bestofSeddit. I want to be able to come to Seddit and read some quality posts, not clutter my mind with newbie questions that belong in AskSeddit and could've been answered if they would read the FAQ and sidebar.

I believe Seddit needs more moderators to help redirect these posts during the other end of the timezone. Or just more moderators in general since this is getting quite frustrating.

If people just use AskSeddit instead of Seddit for posting their questions, it'd be fine.

But the problem is that there are seldom answers to people's questions in AskSeddit, so people x-post or simply post here.

AskSeddit is terrible for these reasons, I took it off my frontpage. Couldn't stand seeing the same questions over and over. "how do i pick this girl up from facebook" stuff was the last straw.

Yeh I like to save my questions and specifics for Ask Seddit.

But what are we really looking for in this subreddit. Lots of Field Reports? What else, links to material? Ideas and epiphanies?

Just read through the other posts here, totally agree with AdvancedPickUp. Also agree to What should I Done definitely getting out there is the biggest key.

Absolutely no reason to have an advanced pickup subreddit. It would have a huge negative effect on this already low-quality subreddit (as OP noted).

it's always funny to see a huge amount of college related pickup questions like "how to do I talk to this girl in my class" crap right as school starts again.

Downvote me if you'd like, but I think one of the things contributing to the quality decrease is the amount of field reports. It seems like 90% of the content on this subreddit is FR's.
