This year has been chaotic (as every year though) as I've been instilling boundaries into not just my romantic life, but platonic as well. I've been opening my eyes to just how much my past friendships honestly sucked.

Friend #1 was a terminal pickme who jumped in any relationship where a guy gave her attention, then trauma dumped on me whenever it always didn't work out. Literally our whole friendship was just her using me for favors like watching her dog, helping her with paperwork, and trauma dumping. I was her secretary, babysitter, and therapist all in one. I made a bet with my bf that she would contact me when the semester started (she abruptly ghosted me on the day of our planned hangout once the semester ended) and what do ya know, she did. Haven't spoken to her since.

Friend #2 was put off by my mental health issues. Im fighting C-PTSD and depression, in therapy and doing a lot better. I guess that was too much baggage for her (although I never trauma dumped on her, I brought up therapy casually, and she found out I have no parents) so she promptly ghosted me, hit me up when she found out I got a job at a really good place and asked if I could squeeze her in...She did not get the job by the way 💀 If you think "Why would she ghost you for that? That's fucking nuts!" she ghosted a girl for having a religion she did not agree with as well.
Friend #3 had a pornsick scrote as her bf, watched porn to "get ideas", and some other things that would probably get me banned from reddit. But if you know about the "update" for female prisons in cali..Her boyfriend defended that and wouldn't let her sign the petition to protect those women, she defended him. I just got disgusted and dropped her.
Now I have 1 female friend, and she's a wonderful and supportive lady. We don't agree on everything, but we still appreciate eachother and I'm very thankful for that. I'm just sad I never realized how used I was getting before.
How has FDS affected your friendships?
