So I you know it's a trap then the best thing to do is to do nothing, don't fall into that trap.

If you must respond then you say my rules are simple, he follows those rules without discussions after we agree what the rules are.

Ignore or go business professional.

Business professional: “Good evening, thank you for the update, I am sorry you are having difficulty with [name]. I support your choice to enforce your own home rules as you see fit. However if you would like to coordinate console rules to establish consistency you are welcome to establish the same rule we have over here. [short rule based on common sense]. Thank you”

Turn it into an opportunity to show she is a struggling parent and you are willing to share your successful rules. It shows a cool head and will infuriate her. She can either take your suggestion and realize you have control and also looks bad if she escalate her rage and looks irrational.

For difficult women their pride and need for control is their weakness, exploit it so they look bad.

Then ignore any follow up responses from her. This sill enrage her further. Let her ware herself out, she will eventually go radio silent.

Yes ignore her. My ex used to bash me in social media. I just ignored it. You make rules at your house and she makes rules at her house. Good luck.

Mmm unpopular opionion here : would be better for the both of you to agree on those rules indeed, and yes at 13 playing for too long video games is not great.

My current experience :
My STBX is allowing our 5 years old to watch for an hour random videos on youtube on iPad, mostly toys unboxing. I disagree with her consuming these videos, including commercials in between (but I'm ok of course with cartoons and animated ok for her age OC).
Guess what ? My daughter doesn't want me to be around on iPad schedule when she's back from school so she can watch the youtube stuffs. We already had a conversation since she asked for divorce about that iPad stuffs and it went into a fight. I'm don't want to bend on this, doesn't have those values for my daughter's eductation.

Grey Rock would be giving her dry, factual advice to diminish her interest in tormenting you. But you already know that's impossible.

Your only option is to ignore.

There's a good chance your son will prefer living with you if his mother is an oppressive maniac. Check state laws, it's possible you can get full custody (and child support from your ex) if your son stays at your house exclusively for 3 contiguous months.
