It is wrong-headed and stupid, and I believe it is both against their own documented rules and reddits general rules, but nobody is going to force anything.

I was banned from the same subreddit not for this subreddit but for being on the pro life subreddit I just see it pathetic that people feel so offended they have to ban people from other subreddits it doesn’t show civil discourse instead it shows that they are wanting to silence people. Some days ago I wrote a meme comment. It was funny, until some feminist (I don't remember if a male or a female) randomly write something about how I "call myself a sigma" (Never said it, also I take the sigma thing as a meme) and I'm in this sub of "incels", trying to look smart but, at my eyes, looking dumb, because I just commented "image using emojis on reddit" and he came out insulting me. Now, because of the fact that people likes to stalk eachother going in their profile, people totally ignored my comment and downvoted me because I'm in this sub. I sincerely hope for all the men that downvoted me because of this that they get punched in the face by a woman, and here they will realize how men rights doesn't mean a sub of incels hating women, but a sub where you can talk about how men are cobsiderated robots by the society, if they don't do their work than they're totally useless, while women can say that their job is being a mom, than thank you for your service, we all live good because of the full time moms.

Same reason the hyper religious tell their kids they don't need college. You don't want any conflicting facts to come into your orbit.

My guess is if they pre-ban people from subs they know already will bring them information they will reject to control the conversation in a place they can. It's just censoring done ahead of time, they don't want opinions, facts, or lines logic that harm their agenda.

Simply put, they want to be right, they don't want a discussion. Just like a 5 year old.

Adults, mature people, do not get all huffy puffy, hurt, or pissed getting new info that is counter to their ideas. They inquire more, learn more, then reformulate their opinion based on the information. Children get bratty, scream no, and storm out of the room.

Actually…. Pretty much all right wing communities. I know people were insanely pissed off about these bans because they would go onto the sub to comment an argument against whatever and, regardless of their argument being against the sub, they would get banned.

The truth is theres a lot of mysoginistic people and viewpoints spread on this sub, which is unfortunate. Im a casual user of this sub because I believe mens rights are lacking in many areas, but I also notice a lot of anti-women rhetoric here. I wish it weren't true, but it unfortunately is.

To be clear, I absolutely disagree with blanket bans. But I dont deny or ignore the evidence of the negative viewpoints that are sometimes spread here. Now before y'all have an angry gut reaction at my response, perhaps entertain it (on a true level and not just on the surface) and try to change it for the better.

The best thing that could happen for the mens rights movement is acknowleding and calling out those sorts of comments. Acting like they dont exist actively harms our stated goals.

Jt’s not just this sub that gets bans by association. Lots of people were banned just by commenting in subs that certain power mods didn’t like. A recent example being no new normal before that got the banhammer

One reason I participate in this sub, is it’s fairly accepting if all views as long as they are on topic. Many other subs are incredibly biased. I’ve seen other subs ban users who give factually correct information that goes against that subreddit culture. Cancel culture is alive and well on Reddit, and I’m glad this forum doesn’t stoop that low.

Two reasons.

Unrecognized misandry (they also tend to claim misandry can't or doesn't exist).
They are mentally incapable of having that conversation for one reason or another.

My sister, for example, thinks I'm anti-feminism. I'm not. I simply think it's full of shit. When they say they want equality but won't address men's issues then tell men to join a MRA if they want that kind of change then make fun of that fun for being an MRA... that's a problem. A problem she is mentally incapable of seeing. She wants to spout out her trauma while simultaneously assuming no one else went through trauma. She, clearly, thinks she had it worst while complaining about people complaining about how bad they have it.

People like her are all over and not uncommon. I say people specifically. It knows no race, gender, nationality, etc.

Americans especially are used to burying their emotions. Women, since feminism, have been allowed to speak their piece. Men, however, have not (in general).

Similar to atheism. It's not a coincidence religion feels attacked when, instead, they are being called out for pedo rapes. But their reaction is strikingly similar to the people you're referring to -- those feminists or subreddits who can't handle discourse usually falling on fallacious reasoning.

On Fetlife I had a former friend who basically said he was a white CIS heterosexual male -- but he used something like 12 different words to say it that were "more hip" and sounded less... normal.

Until people, in general, can learn to have difficult conversation as well as understand others have problems too -- this won't change.

I'm fond of saying: Everyone has a privilege.

More women graduate college than men (and yet we "need more women in STEM", so they can say there are more women graduating in all fields than men.. and somehow that's not sexist?). More Black people are offered scholarships than white or Asians.

This is NOT to say all privileges are equal -- a common retort to this, for some reason. I never implied all privileges were equal. But that response, too, is telling on their intent in their discussion. They either have to prove me wrong or write me off. Guess which one they bee-line for? Writing me off because it's easier than having an actual conversation -- especially when I'm prepared with statistics and other bits of provable data.

So what happens on Reddit? It's easier to ban the people you can't argue with than it is to have a fruitful discussion because if all men (sorry, most) aren't bad.. then their life is upside down. And they simply can't have that.
