I don't really know if there is a way to define such a subjective thing. Everyone has different things that are valuable to them as an individual. For example I may value a guy who's very family oriented and desires to have children and be dad. Another woman who aren't looking to be a mother would probably not value that in the same way I do.

There are obvious things that do increase value such as wealth, positive character traits, good looks, etc. ofc. But depending on what combination of these traits they have alongside what the woman is looking for in a partner would truly be what determines the value to that individual woman. The value would vary depending on which woman is considering him and what her own ambitions and desires are.

I'm only speaking about high value men because I'm a woman. I don't really value women at all as potential partners cuz I'm straight lol. I can't really speak on what makes a valuable woman. All Ik is I try my best 😅

Although this is what I personally view would determine whether a man is of high value, I think the most common way to view it is if they are rich and good-looking. Most people I've seen refer to HVM disregard any character qualities and only require that they be attractive, rich and tall. So I suppose that could be a definition as well for some people. Everyone views the term differently so tbh I think it's a pretty useless term to use.

A high value man is someone who likes and respects himself and takes responsibility for his own happiness and fulfillment. A man like this will be attractive to any woman. A man who dislikes himself, has no self respect, is ashamed of who he is and looks up to women to make him happy and complete will be attractive to zero women.

Men

1) Intelligence - HVM are logical, rational, analytical and has great foresight/insight. They are highly educated, knows multiple languages.

2) Generous - HVM will spoil you, take you on costly dates, buy you gifts, invest time, effort, resources into the relationship. They will never gossip or tell negative things about you behind your back. He listens when you tell him your Boundaries and don't need to be constantly reminded. He will stay in contact frequently and with high-quality messages. He will be emotionally available to you. His actions match his words and he walks the talk.

5) Humility - LVM have fragile egos and can't handle criticism. They get emotional, angry, aggressive, defensive, start to give excuses, act out rebelliously and in spite. They even expect you to apologize because their feelings were hurt. HVM will thank you and welcome fair, honest, constructive criticism given in good faith. HVM will admit to his flaws and take action to start working on them. He would admit he is in a bad mood and ask for help if he needs it. His ego can handle your success, ambition and he will genuinely celebrate them with you, and not feel threatened. LVM have self-esteem issues.

6) Wealthy - HVM are rich, earned that money using his own abilities. He has high status in his community, he has power, connections and competence.

7) Gentleness - This is not borne out of weakness or inability rather HVM are strong, considerate, and have respect. They are gentle because they chose to show restraint. They respect the Boundaries you set. LVM are aggressive, have short tempers, violent, cocky, assholes.

8) Healthy - HVM takes care of hygiene, grooms himself well, has a good sleep schedule, eats nutritious food, is not picky, wears neat clothes, exercises, etc.

9) Handsome - HVM are hot, chiseled sharp jawline, not balding, low body fat, flat stomach, exotic race, rare light eye color, tall, broad shoulders, muscular in a lean way, strong enough to princess carry you, even growth of beard. He has a deep voice. Unblemished skin. Well defined butt.

Women

1) Minimalism - Does not like extravagant lifestyle. Doesn’t nag for things we can’t afford to buy for her. Realistic expectations. Doesn’t have large debt, manages finances carefully.

3) Fit - She takes care of hygiene, grooms herself well, has a good sleep schedule, eats nutritious food, is not picky, wears pretty clothes, exercises, has a fit body.

4) Communicates easily - She opens up and lets you know what she thinks and feels, listens when you speak, engages in good faith, speaks honestly, respects viewpoints she disagrees with, has the patience to repeat her points, is consistently emotionally available when you need her. Deals with conflict in a healthy way instead of avoiding or repressing it.

5) Empathy - She is kind, caring, nurturing, altruistic, has integrity, compassion, prioritizes you over her, she understands you, forgives you. Capacity to give unconditional love. She has strong moral values and demonstrates strength of character. More idealistic than pragmatic.

6) Open to experimenting - She is open to experimenting in bed and trying your Fetishes out, not a prude, not ashamed about Sex, has a libido to match you, finds you desirable and attractive in bed, actively engages during Sex.

7) High Emotional Intelligence - They are witty, funny, playful, has charisma, a great sense of humor, and can make you laugh. They read the room and know what to say and when in order to control the group dynamics, regulate their own and other people's emotions.

8) Independent - Their life doesn’t revolve around you, they have hobbies that they are passionate about, friends to support them, family they trusts. They aren't clingy, overly dependent on you. They have a life outside of the relationship. Has confidence, is not struggling with lack of self esteem, can take care of themselves, is comfortable being single.

I guess in a wide spread of the word a HVM is a man who has a lot of good options for casual and LTRs. And a HVW is a woman who has a lot of good options for LTRs. Casual is less important for women, as it's very easy to obtain.

Personally I think that a HVM/W is a person who is a great fit for long-term relationships. So each individual definition of who is high value to them tends to be different and can vary greatly.

We all have personal things that we want or need that diverge from the archetypal attractive man, and I feel like the term must be subjective to reflect that. And if you try to become a high value woman, this is the kind of woman that your high value man wants. HVM is commonly used to describe a guy who is the conventional "complete package": wealthy, attractive, charming, confident, etc.

On a more personalized level, that definition is going to vary between individuals for many reasons. For example, a woman who comes from a wealthy background and already knows she's set for life may not really care about the wealth of the men she dates. There was even a post on here about a study that analyzed the changes in women's preferences based on the amount of money she believes her father will spend on her children.

Harder to pin down a definition for HVW because mainstream expectations of women vary so much between cultures/SES.
