Who is the real alpha male? The big guy walking in the club with a girl on his arm threatening to beat up other people...OR the guy with the beer belly that OWNS the club and can throw them all out if he wants to?

This statement here shows you have a misconstrued understanding of the alpha male/beta male terms

When someone talks about Alpha male they're not talking about Rambo walking into a room with 10 models ready to beat up everyone.

They're talking about a man who's confident, socially intelligent, charismatic, decently high status, and is ever improving. Theres other things as well but you get the point.

When they use the term Beta male, its for men who dont have back bone, who lack confidence, who dont set boundaries, who are validation seeking, you get the point.

Humans are an incredibly complex social species with nuance and exceptions to rules, however the underlying principals of dominance definitely apply to all social situations, even if in differing ways.

Women still tend to prefer more dominant men overall, and many men can benefit from learning to be stronger, both physically and mentally.

The point of alpha and beta is that they're fluid to the situation, you can be alpha in one environment and beta in another. You might be alpha within say your friend group, however if you've never played chess before and you join a chess club, you're going to be a beta compared to the guy who are masters.

That's the whole point, it all depends.

So you're not disagreeing with alpha at all, just the traits needed. Although no one really disagreed with social and economic power and no woman will turn down a fit body if everything else is equal.

This is the one thing that makes this sub laughable to me. I'm a 5'9" nerdy black guy that isn't very dominant in the traditional sense. I have only recently become financially stable after 34 years of living. Im told Im handsome but I would give myself a 7 in the looks department. I was a late bloomer also losing my virginity at 20 years old.

I have regularly had sexual relationships over the last decade (2 fwb right now and going on two dates this week) and my last two SO's have done modeling work professionally. Nobody would call me alpha by looking at me and I'm mostly a goofball anime nerd. I feel like the Alpha/Beta paradigm is just an excuse for dudes to not take responsibility over their lives and live the life they want. It also screams inexperience with women when you think only 6'+ Chad's are having sex with them.

I do live a very active social life (DJ, Event Planner, Software Developer known locally) but I haven't worked out in years (Im slim). I don't comment much on the constant incel talk here but it just confirms to me that I'm doing damn good in life.

Find your purpose guys.

So your correct in your assertion. But wrong that the paradigm is a fallacy.

So you noticed it's not the most aggressive male that rises to the top of the hierarchy. I'm sure you've noticed the people at the top of our society aren't the most aggressive either. Some of them are upstanding citizens, what gives? Well just like the chimps it turns out the best way for someone to win is if we can both win. If I win and help others in the processI'm more valuable and competent to society.

The whole 'lone wolf' mysterious stranger doesn't get put into the top echelon of society. Even the cartels as ruthless as they are still contribute to their communities and rally for their people.

Muscle and aggression are valuable and can be traits of an alpha, but unrestrained and undisciplined your no better than a rabid dog looking to get put down. That's why the most violently aggressive men in our society find themselves in prison or dead.

Just like in ape society, one big bad mother might rule the troop for a minute but it only takes 2 males half as mean to over power him and rip him limb from limb.

Being an alpha means shouldering greater burdens and greater responsibility, it means carrying the heaviest load you can possibly bare.
