This post will basically cover what we already know about Evo-psych from a Redpill lens, but with my own spins here and there.

Let's start off with male and female nature. Men are naturally polygamous, which means they wish to spread their seed indiscriminately far and wide. Women are naturally hypergamous, which means they aspire to secure the best mate possible at any given time. But what happens to the dating market when these two dating strategies collide: one where men want many women while women want the best men? This results in an unbalanced dating market where the majority of women pursue the minority of men at the top, men at the top have multiple women to themselves, and men at the bottom are mostly left out. This resulted in a 95/5 rule as evidenced by how 8,000 years ago, 17 women reproduced for every one man.

Men at the top realized this system would be unsustainable due to "young male syndrome," a recorded phenomenon where young jobless and romanceless men engage in violence to compensate for their perceived emasculation. To solve the dating market imbalance, they engineered a system called "enforced monogamy" which describes a set of cultural or political factors that compel both genders (but especially women) to prioritize monogamy at all costs and forsake anything that hinders one's pursuit of a single partner. It was the ultimate compromise: men gave up their desire to chase multiple women, and women gave up their desire to chase high value men. Every man, was promised a woman. Due to the universal influence of enforced monogamy throughout the recent millennia of human history, 80% of women reproduced while 40% of men did. That's still unbalanced, but nowhere near as bad as the primordial 95/5 rule I mentioned above.

Many attempts have been made to destroy enforced monogamy before, but all of them failed. The Roman empire is the most famous example. As social norms broke down alongside enforced monogamy, Rome saw many of modern society's plagues like hypergamy, the collapse of families, increasing taxes and costs of living, young male syndrome, and general social anxiety. The most apparent consequence was how the male lack of motivation meant there were no more available soldiers. Because of this, the Roman empire collapsed and the more reactionary barbarians restored enforced monogamy alongside traditional social norms. This was humanity's trump card. You see, while anyone can call themselves pacifistic today, such was unthinkable back then where everyone was trying to pillage your nation and genocide your people with no room for negotiation. So when the death of enforced monogamy allowed a culture to break down and men to weaken, the culture was guaranteed to be invaded by more ruthless factions who would proceed to restore enforced monogamy. This was the universal safeguard that assured men as a whole that enforced monogamy would never disappear.

However, things have changed. What happens today when a society's culture breaks down, costs of living rise, the family unit withers, and men become less motivated to participate in society because they're no longer promised a woman? Absolutely Nothing. Now that every culture is similarly pacifistic and non-aggressive today, that ancient safeguard where a more ruthless culture would take over and make men strong again is gone. A popular misconception among redpillers is that there will be a beta revolution if the dating market worsens. While we indeed see young male syndrome emerge in the form of mass shootings by involuntary celibates, such has never been enough to bring down a nation: enforced monogamy can only be restored by external forces.

In today's world, where enforced monogamy has almost fully broken down, the dating market can be described by the 80/20 rule. But things are getting worse. Women are now 20% of the online dating populace, only 38% of single women are looking for sex/dates/relationships, and 45% of women will be single by 2030. That's without mentioning the hypergamy among the few women who still engage in dating nowadays. It seems like hypergamy is getting worse than men could possibly fathom.

All that considered, I conclude with this: Now that enforced monogamy is withering in the west, with no safeguard to restore it, the 95/5 rule from our most distant past will likely return to dominate the modern dating market soon enough.
