From the comments on the recent HuffPo article on 'telling women to smile':

"One time I was minding my business at a Subway restaurant and this group of young men took it upon themselves to start raucously cat calling me, asking for my number, commenting on my body, etc. It wad the busy lunch hour and everyone just stared at me as I recoiled in my embarassment. No one came to my rescue or told these men to calm down or hush up. And when I ignored them thet got very angry. It's not impossible to surmise that had these really been bad apples, they could have followed me out of the place and done harm. They had numbers on their side. I'm just a singular woman who wanted and effing tuna sandwhich."

What is female privilege?

"No one came to my rescue or told these men to calm down or hush up."

This is female privilege. I don't expect anyone to fight my battles for me. I don't expect some white knight to come in and save me, to speak for me. Because nobody expects someone to do that for men.

I can count on one hand the number of times that someone stood up to a bully on my behalf. I remember every damn one. And here this entitled person acts like it is her god-given right to have champions of her purity on every corner.

Chivalry is dead, and feminism killed it.

Before you write this off as the rantings of a misogynist, think about the inherent misandry in this HuffPo article. Men (an unspecific, general 'men') are framed as the oppressors and females as the victims. Men (all men) are labeled as hateful beasts who beset women with their vileness. That's not me, and that isn't the majority of men.

This is why I need the Men's Rights Movement.
