Okay, be rational here. It's apparent the relation was consensual, and the boy had the age of consent. The issue here is that it's inappropriate for a teacher to have sexual relationships with students, whether they're underage or not. I agree they should not have named the "victim" however, unless he himself agreed to it.

The even bigger issue though is that if it had been a man doing the same with a female student, you all know this would be treated as some sort of horrible rape case when it fucking certainly shouldn't be.

Compare a British teacher who had a love affair with a 15 year old student, consumed while in France where the age of consent is 14 or 15.

He got 5 1/2 years in jail, though the girl said she loves him and will wait for him.

While a man in the same situation would have probably been jailed and suffered more, I don't think anyone should be jailed for sex where both parties consented. The age of consent should be a few years lower, sometimes these cases make me sick, seeing how a law is in the way of love and affection.

Age of consent in the state of New York may be 17 but it's 16 right next door in Jersey so I don't give much of a fuck about this case.

Yes this is probably an example of women getting off easy and it's important to document these cases...

But TBH rather than see a new thread about each an every case, I'd rather something more useful be done, like work on a wiki or list consolidating these names and events in a timeline and quantity tally.

I don't see the purpose in discussing these cases person by person, one throwaway thread at a time. It's the same story over and over again and I don't regularly feel any new thoughts provoked here.

We can recognize these cases by organizing them so they can be brought up as data in arguments, yeah, but WGAF, it's one more drop in the bucket at this point.

Also I'm just going to note that the teacher is hot and that as a 16 year old, I would have fucked her, and have not experienced any major revelations condemning my past self for foolishness to change that outlook.

This isn't exactly the kind of battle I want to fight. Let's organize these so we can compare them to cases that are overly harsh on men, not call for the meaningless persecution of women over barely disruptive crimes. There are worse people out there and all we seem to do half the time is pick on the "perverts".

Rather than complain about the teacher, who simply engaged in a consensual relationship with a student who loved her, why don't we look at the girlfriend? She snooped in his facebook account without permission. She violated her privacy.

The girlfriend did something far more unethical than the teacher.

Let's be honest here: It was consensual, he was 16. The real problem here is that had the roles been reversed it would have been a huge deal. The guy would go to jail and have his life ruined by the sex offender registry.

Imagine a male teacher with sleeve tattoos who raped a girl less than half his age. would he be getting probation? Would we have named the victim in the press?

Or would the headline be "Biker tattood predator rapes student" and outraged cries of why someone "like him" was ever placed in a position of authority over children.

I say it's fine to point out the double standard in these kinds of cases (I'm so all for that), but I think when it comes to statutory cases we should just try to change the system altogether.

I say just make the AoC for statutory rape purposes 15, and have a Romeo and Juliet clause of +/- 3 years, and be done with it.

I think that the fact all the MRAs want to see these women jailed just shows pettiness and vindictiveness.

We should be aiming for men not to face jail time, not for women to face jail time too.
