A common complaint from women is that some men are "too nice". They come across as disingeneous and lack masculanity (aka being a doormat) according to what is usually said by women.

I always wondered why women seem to meet so many men that can be described as "too nice". It must getting treated a lot differently than women as I have never met a man (or a woman) that I thought was too nice. I met plenty of assholes though but never in my life was I ever put off by someone being nice. I can imagine niceness being "too much" in extreme forms such as daily gifts or something but it seems women have a way lower threshold for what they regard as being too nice.

It makes me wonder if this perception is exclusive to the female experience or that other men also regularly bothered by the people around them acting too nice towards them. Do you recognize yourself in the complaints by women regarding these so called nice guys?
