I'm not a religious person, but I know that there's a reason that "Thou shall not bear false witness" is one of the ten commandments.

The punishment (or lack thereof) that we dole out for false accusation is nowhere near proportional to the amount of harm they cause.

I’m an ER doc. I can’t tell you how many women come in with obviously fake claims. I just treated someone today who has made no less than 11 rape allegations in the past year, all of which have had exactly the same details, they all happened exactly the same amount of time before presentation to the ER, and they were all made the moment we told her we intended to discharge her and that her other complaints were all evaluated and fine. This woman accuses various men in her life of rape just so that she can manipulate the medical system and hang in the ER a little longer and get some more free food or maybe some pain meds.

I see this shit every single day of my life. Telling women they are automatically to be believed and treated as royalty if only they accuse someone of a sex crime is a recipe for rampant allegations made only so the accuser can reap the benefits of being a victim in a victim culture. This has got to stop. It is not ok.

Stories like that are always a sobering reminder. All it takes is one accusation and your life is effectively over. Even if the truth comes out, your reputation is destroyed and the accuser will walk away without more than a slap on the wrist. Insane world.

Everyone should post something like this every day to some other forum. (Not just on reddit!) Let people know the truth!

2-8% is just the false accusations that are found out and reported! There are many more that are never reported, just quietly dropped because the accused man suffers depression and shame at being accused. And then there are the false accusations that get believed and the innocent are punished.

26 years is basically my entire lifetime, so its absolutely ridiculous, especially when people get shorter sentences for murder.

I don't understand why feminists aren't more angry and active about these false accusations. I know they can't yell "false" before it's proven, but once it has been proven, they really should be yelling more than us. Every false accusation serves as doubt for authentic accusations, and that hurts women.

What’s even more gross about this is the evidence, or lack there of. Semen found in the underwear of the woman was her boyfriends, but the boyfriend was never brought in for DNA test. Why? 2 months earlier he shot one of these men convicted and could not be found. Side bar, this woman was hiding a fugitive essentially, but no charges brought on her. Continuing on, the physician who examined her found no signs of assault, which she claimed happened. Hmmm. Also, she gave widely conflicting reports of the incident before coming uncooperative with police. So this bitch falsifies a claim, is uncooperative, and there is no evidence supporting the allegations... yet the men are convicted. Sounds like the “justice system” just wanted to throw a couple of black men in jail.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. On one hand they deserve to be put in jail but on the other hand they won’t confess to it if they think they’ll go to jail. But on the other other hand they might not falsely accuse someone in the first place if they think they could go to jail.
