(Disclaimer: Don't want to negate for an instant the insane hardship and grief the pandemic has brought for so many. I realize the economic security to use lockdown for personal growth is part of my privilege that many don't have.)

I got on FDS during quarantine, last fall, and like so many others, it has changed my life. I dumped my situationship and realized I desperately needed to restructure my boundaries big time. I then also stepped away from most of my social circle (specifically the circle with my ex's and my mutual friends) to work on those boundaries.

Lockdown has provided ample time away from social life in general to continue studying FDS and working on boundaries, self-worth, and self-care. I've even joined a new spirituality practice/community.

So now the re-opening is starting to seem like it might really happen this summer, assuming vaccination keeps going (US context). And I find my feelings about my social life--not just men, but all friends/acquaintances--have changed a lot. I didn't realize pre-FDS how utterly soaked in pickme anxiety my entire social life was. I was constantly trying to live up to what I thought would make everyone like me and let me fit in.

Now I'm getting closer and closer to IDGAF in a really freeing and positive way, and I'm actually looking forward to reengaging with my circle. I don't feel threatened by the possibility of seeing my ex because I've reached indifference toward him. I will re-enter my social scene with new boundaries and new eyes toward how things work. I feel ready to be myself, exactly who I am, with no apologies. I feel safer and stronger, and ironically, having more mental distance and guardedness will actually help me engage more with them, because I now know how to be my own best friend and lover. I can enjoy them because I no longer need them in order to feel validated. Pandemic plus FDS helped me see how very capable and happy I can be and am on my own.

Anyone else?
