The UN is a corrupt and sexist organisation that continues to cause substantial damage in every community is touches. Look at the results of UN aid, not the glossy virtue signalling reports, but the ruins of communities that are left behind when the UN moves on to the next "fashionable" cause.

I read somewhere that they found a woman in the jungle, I think it was in Borneo, who wasn't disproportionately affected. Scientists are now studying her to find out how that is possible. Preliminary findings suggest that she actually was disproportionately affected but just didn't know it, not having been taught Feminism since childhood.

I’m not picking sides hear but it Does make sense Women’s Jobs would be affected. A large portion of women’s jobs are in restaurants and public places that women work. Factories and construction on the other hand are predominately men and also higher earning jobs. Most factories have a huge supply of personal protection equipment and face masks are just part of the job. My work we wear respirators because we work with metal. So we are protected in entirely different way then any public worker.

But the concept of disproportion is another story altogether. All that I’m an independent woman talk goes down the drain when you can’t pay your rent.

Women do tend to prefer jobs that have a lot of social interactions(something that they are usually greatly advantaged in), and avoid jobs that require greater lengths of isolation and independent work(also why you don't see a lot of women in STEM fields or trades). It would make sense that a virus response requiring people to avoid social situations would affect a lot of women because of it. This is not a product of sexism or patriarchy though, it's a product of working/choosing certain types of jobs(that would otherwise be in their favor).

Does anyone know the arguments they are using here? I do not mind interventions being gender responsive, but if the starting point is to assume that one gender, the one with the lowest mortality, is much more affected, it is hard to see how they can make this happen.
