Looking for feedback on others experience and if the GIANT dollar amounts sound correct. Here’s the high-level outline of what my situation is:

Married 13 years w/ two kids 9 & 13. Major asset is our home that has roughly $400K in equity. I have IRA’s and stock totaling about $200K - wife has $100K in IRA. we have roughly $150K in other assets and $100K in debt not including a mortgage of $400K.

Wife makes about $20K per year part time currently. Before going part time (about 9-years ago), she made $65K per year and has the potential to make around $75K.

I’ve made $330K per year in 2021 and 2022 full years. I made around $150K in 2019 and 2020. The 2022 and 2021 income is inflated and would normally be around $250K per year.

Here’s what I proposed to the attorney and the estimates he gave me for alimony and child support payments:

I am proposing - She keeps the house, her IRA, car, and most of the other assets. (including debt associated with home and car). Total value roughly $500k in cash, assets, and equity.

I am proposing - I keep my IRA’s, stock, and some assets valued around $250K.

Attorney estimates that I’ll have to pay $6,000 in alimony per month and $1,500 in child support w/ 50/50 custody. I find this very high considering I would like her to keep the house Including roughly $250K more in assets.

Any advise or thoughts here? If anyone has any resources you could point me to, I would greatly appreciate it!
