Did it come from media portrayals or the experiences of your parents? This is mainly stemming from my realization that a lot of guys seem to believe that a lifestyle of casual sex was attainable or even expected. But I am curious about both men and women's expectations.

I grew up in an immigrant Asian household where sex was never discussed or acknowledged, so I was just pretty ignorant in general. All I expected was to work hard in school, find a wife, and settle down and have kids.

For others, was the expectation that you'd have a period of fun, casual sex baked in from your upbringing?
