I'm 35. Went to an urologist for a different issue but he asked me about my libido and told me it was too low for my age. He asked me for some tests in my blood and urine. Turns out I have a hormonal issue. My testosterone levels are the same as a man almost 60 years old. Now I have almost 2 months of treatment and do feel different. In 1 month more I will have another test to check how I'm doing.

But apparently, low libido could mean low testosterone and that's a problem because that could cause depression, low energy, weight gain, low concentration, sleeping and more things and I actually had those issues too, I am also in phycological therapy and I was going crazy trying to understand why I had so low energy.

So be careful with that. I strongly recommend you to check with your doctor just in case.

I used to feel this way, as being stuck with an "asexual" wife made my libido nothing but torture.

Got my wish through medical means, and found I'd lost my will to accomplish anything. Lost my faith in humanity, practically, when I couldn't see anyone as really transcendently beautiful anymore.

Honestly like there's something "spiritually" intrinsic about eros from which I can't bear to be disconnected.

I agree. I don’t want to fuck all the time or think about sex. I know it’s merely monkey biological programming. I do enjoy it when meeting someone new and exciting or in a long term relationship maybe weekly. I just feel less distracted by visual stimulation and hormone overdrive and it is kind of peaceful.

I see it as a weakness and I imagine many women see it this way by the way some will try to use their sexuality as a means of manipulation. To fully answer your question though, I would say it is freedom to not be thinking of sex frequently. I had to get on Zoloft after my twins were born and it completely killed the anxiety I had and as a side benefit, eliminated my libido.

I've never had a particularly high sex drive and I make no apology for it. I'm unattractive, but I think that's largely unrelated (I'm not overweight, I'm a tall, skinny streak of shit at the best of times). My long-term partner (who is female and was born that way) has always wanted it way more than I do.

I've never had any sort of hormone assessment done, but I wouldn't be surprised to find it was lower than average in me. It is what it is. Last thing I want is the distraction.

I am 58 now, and for most of my adult life I chased women a lot. Certainly, I had a great time. Bedding those beauties was certainly enjoyable. But when I hit 50, I noticed I was less interested in chasing women. Not just old women my age, but even women in their 20s and 30s became less interesting to me. Sure, I could tell it a woman was good looking, but that "need" to get her in bed was on the decline.

Rather than being sad it has been, as you mentioned, extremely freeing. I enjoy riding my bikes, playing my guitar, walking my dogs, reading books, going out for beers with friends, and don't feel any desire to waste my time on women anymore.

One important point, addressing something you mentioned: I never "simped" in my life. My rule was always to only treat women to nice things, like meals out, if I was already sleeping with them. The whole idea of "simping" in the hope they will like me and one day sleep with me is the fastest route to the "friendzone" and I never wasted my time on that.

I'm 40+ and had periods (years long) of zero of v. high libido. Personally i loved zero libido. I developed my hobbies a lot, had plenty of time and was very productive at work. However i consider libido as health marker so imho long time with no libido is not a good sign.

Loss of libido can by tied to low testosterone levels which is a very BAD thing as a man. Testosterone is needed for a clear and healthy mindset and it helps keep depression and anxiety in check. Even if you're not looking to get laid it's still important to take care of yourself.

It is not really freedom. Sex with your partner helps keep the relationship up. Makes it easier to be understandful and patient with the other person, among other things.

It is freedom if you are single or in a sexless relationship, otherwise it is hell.

I think if the loss of libido is cause you are not addicted to porn or pussy anymore is a good thing, but if you have low libido cause of low testosterone that's a really bad situation. Therefore you need to check your testosrone levels when this is happening just to be sure, cause low testo will fuck your brain and body.

Loss of libido is fine. It's the change in relationship compatibility people complain about. If you both start off no libido there's no problem.

It could be a hormonal issue too, which may have other impacts that are less freeing, but in general everyone has a different level of sexual need.

Don't mean to be negative bro, but that could mean low testosterone. I think I have the same thing because I also feel the same way. Remember that what we eat and drink today, all this processed crap and chemicals in stuff have affected us for decades. Men in our prime now have about the same testosterone levels as men in their 60's decades ago, that's fucked, we literally we never be like our fathers and grandfathers, they have way more testosterone in their system. Make sure to go to a doctor and check yourself, prioritize your health, testosterone is vital for us.

Get your testosterone checked mate, I did mine via medichecks and turns out I had abnormally low test levels for a 31 Yr old. The thing is it can affect more than libido, such as mood, depression, anxiety, energy levels, muscle and fat ratios, your ability to achieve and maintain an erection, etc.

Since being on it for 6 months my libido is back to normal, I can have sex 1-3 times a day without issue, my depression and anxiety is much better, as is my energy levels and recovery. Low test can also cause more health issues down the line, so get it looked at now brother.
