It's a question of how common it is, which I do not know. But even in the 80s I have seen women try to defend their own self-perception of their 'league' by calling guys who approached them creepy simply for the guy being too far beneath what the women thought was their level.

And it's a grey area, because a guy who really is below a girl's league approaching her the same way as a guy who is in her league IS sort of creepy. It shows a lack of understanding of the social game, or worse, a total indifference. If he will break these rules, what else will he do?

Define "evidence" for us, first. Because based on your own well-documented behavior in this sub I can guarantee that no matter what gets presented you'll just either ignore it or call it cReEpY no matter what it is. So that's my counter-argument: women aren't acting in good faith and you're a shining example of that exact problem so no amount of evidence would change things at all because it's not about facts, it's about misandrist hate.

Men have been called creepy for the following egregious offenses:

-Having a mustache.

-Driving a van.

-Sitting alone in a public place (park, bar, bus stop restaurant etc)

-Jokingly saying "I guess it's free then" to cashiers when items don't ring up at the cash register.

-Being quiet and minding their own business.

-Wearing a fedora.

-Wearing sunglasses indoors, although you're more likely to be called a douchebag than creepy for this crime against humanity.

Whether a man is considered creepy boils down to how good looking his is - an unattractive man can be labelled a creep simply by existing in the vicinity of a woman (e.g. all those TikTok videos of men being shamed for being in the gym and minding their own businesses); conversely, an attractive man can harass women, invade their personal space and refuse to take “no” for an answer and will applauded for being confident and charming.

You want proof of something that happens at large and doesn't make the news. If I said I'd like evidence that misogyny is rampant and women get catcalled, harassed etc all the time, the only evidence would be anecdotal; women would say "it happens to every woman!" Or "it's a part of our daily lives since teenaged years!" And if I responded by saying anecdotes or stories aren't good enough, they would say I'm wrong and that I'm ignoring reality. So, it's the same thing. There is no tangible proof, just men relaying their own experiences. The difference seems to be that it's OK to call the men liars, but heaven forbid you don't #believeallwomen

You know as I have gotten older I have come to question a lot of what women say. I used to accept their claims at face value. Even if there was video, you'd probably insist that it "doesn't count," for one reason or another.
No one care. Convincing you is not important. We don't expect you to believe one thing or another. No one cares what "women" think, or what you think. Your opinion is not important.

You say you want evidence, but no amount of evidence is ever going to convince you. You'll find some lame excuse so that you can dismiss whatever evidence anyone might bring to you.

The problem with this mindset is that bias exists, and being told someone is creepy causes a bias to perceive the actions they take as creepy. Even when it's a baseless 3rd hand rumor ("I heard so and so was creepy. Why? Well he-said she-said, case closed). Especially when lookism gets involved.
