All the top comments are valid, but I’m going to add that you shouldn’t have to hear your roommate having sex. None of us enjoy hearing that (I have 3 roommates myself).

If you can’t talk to them about keeping it down or doing it when you’re not there, don’t allow yourself to hear it. Put on noise-proof headphones, leave the apartment and do something, ANYTHING fun! There are so many activities you could do and you never know who you may meet.

I understand the pain of being single, but the only reason I’m not in a relationship is because I’m choosing to focus on myself and be the best version of myself that I can possibly be. I had my 2 closest friends get married last summer, and I had no one (still don’t). The pain of having been their bridesmaids, knowing they were younger and getting married before me; I know there are other women and men who’ve been there. But don’t allow yourself to wallow.

Well first off, if you live there too, then it's not out of line for you to kindly ask them to keep it down. (They might not even realize how loud they're being.) Keeping things quieter is just basic common courtesy for people who share a living space.

Are you having trouble holding conversation? Or coming up with things to say?
Are you in your head a lot try to think of things to say or do?
What are you doing right now to try and improve your situation? Are you able to do anything?
