If it were that easy I'd delete the apps and never look back.

But the fact is one involves swiping my thumb side to side and can be done whilst walking around the park or waiting for a friend or working out or whatever. Admittedly swiping through bots, sex workers, scammers, the mildly retarded, mentally ill and grotesque, attention whores, wannabe influencers, closet mums, women misleading you with old photos etc to find women worth speaking to - then having to deal with ghosting, breadcrumbing and flaking that grinds away your energy and time - but despite all that it's convenient and relatively free.

The other involves me having to try and rally a few friends (even finding one can be difficult these days considering they all have longterm partners), riding an uber 25 minutes into the nightlife district (and feeling obligated to make pointless banter with the driver), dropping cash on transport/alcohol/cover charges/pills/food whilst drunk/misc expenses, waiting in line surrounded by stupid melodrama and screeching voices, prick bouncers, trying to befriend people requiring banal small talk, bad music at deafening volumes, pretending to enjoy dancing, getting deliberately bumped by sweaty aggro guys, having some little witch you're not remotely interested in rub her fake tan over you on the dancefloor, finally spotting someone who looks cute and trying to eye fuck them then approaching them and screaming in their ear over the loud music - If I'm lucky then kissing and getting her number at most because they're not going to travel all the way back to this strangers place to fuck (and if they are willing to then I'm actually kind of weary of them tbh), finally stumbling in the door at 3am, exhausted, dehydrated, ears ringing, hungover for most of the next day, and when I check my account I'm down $80.

I find I'm only really enjoying myself about 5% of the time when I go out, the rest is just inconvenient and expensive or straight up fucking irritating.

Meanwhile I could've spent $0 having a friend come round for a beer, written some music, streamed a good movie, read a good book etc and had a pretty good night all round.

Obviously I could focus more on cold approaching and being more selective with the venues and events that I go to, but man whenever I get the urge to delete the apps I remember why I'm on them in the first place.

Got any advice?
