I did this just last night. I was dancing close to the stage right behind a group of four girls. I had my eye on two possibles (the two best looking). Groups are easier to open. Think about it. When a girls alone, her defenses are up and she's less likely to open up to a stranger. With a group, they're all relaxed and in a social mood. To start, open the group, paying most attention to the leader. Start off with an opener and false time constraint. Wait a little bit before paying attention to the target. If the target tries to get your attention or say something to you (she will eventually if you do this right and she isn't a total wallflower), then say to the group, "Wow, is she always gesture to target like this/this needy/this pushy?" I don't do cold approach much. There aren't that many places in my city that you can hang out in with that sole purpose (that said I'll have to force myself more out of my comfort zone one of these days). But whenever I did do cold approach, the girl was almost always with a group of friends. Which I've always assumed is the standard way of meeting someone in a free day. So the first thing I'd suggest is not making this a problem unless you want to depend on rare occurrences when you can meet the girl by herself, which tend to hardly ever happen.

Anyway, here's the thing: one thing I've noticed is that girls tend to appreciate the balls of the guy who will approach them as soon as he does so. If you don't say or do anything too stupid or act too nervous, they will be cool about it and make you comfortable unless they are the kind of awful people you would not be interested in spending time with anyway. So by all means, as soon as you feel the fear of rejection kicking in and start making scenarios in your head of how many things can go wrong, quiet the mind say "fuck it, I've went out for this today" and go for it. This was the only way I ever managed to do cold approach. Remind yourself that you have not a single thing to lose.

Besides that, I'd say that having at least a friend with you helps. Even if said friend, hell even an acquaintance, is acting like a sissy and does not want to approach first because he "doesn't know how to open". Why? Because as soon as you'll approach, he will suddenly start winging you like he just found his voice in one his pockets and this will not only make it easier to talk to the girls, but it will also distinguish you from the guy who had to rely on YOU to start talking.

Groups are tough, my suggestion get a good wingman, if you can't do that then I would use a non verbal indicator to build rapport and give off the vibe that you know her already. Approach a group set and interact with all the girls, when you've built that comfort then try and isolate. One time I was at the club approached two girls, and I was dancing with one then the friend took her away, cause she got jealous. Another time I approached a two set with a friend and it went really well when we both started dancing with them, unfortunately it stopped cause my buddy realized it was going well and he had a gf back at university in a neighboring province (I'm from Canada) so he didn't want to cheat. I agree with someone mentioning to make sure you’re in a group as well. From my experience, you’re best bet is to approach a group that looks like they aren’t having a great time. The group of girls that is a having a blast won’t be interested in random dudes trying to mess with their vibe. A group that looks like they aren’t talking to each other a whole lot, on their phones, not really dancing or drinking, are more apt to entertaining someone who looks/seems fun (extra points if your group of friends is having a blast). I always like using “man, you guys are having way too much fun over here, gonna need you to tone it down”. You’ll get a laugh or an eye roll; an eye roll means ain’t nobody having fun, a good laugh and you’re in. No one group and no one girl is that important just yet. Techincally, you actually don't know these people, you're just out having a good time socializing. So in a way they are all equal, they are all just your conduit to having a good time. But, if some are throwing signs at you, well yeah you're going to be quite interested in that.

Personally I go in making up some random whatever in the moment. To be honest the words don't matter, it's more about your vibe and your energy, imho. "Ok every single one of you just looked at me, and you all look sneaky as f*ck." or "I just re-lived my entire adolescence hearinng this song, wtf" or "we are going to / came back from xyz bar, what about you" or "what's up with the four matching outfits, I'm detecting some weird drinking theme here.."

These statements all mean very little. It's all just say something and see who hooks and how, imo. Actually none of it means too much at all at this point, it's more about eye contact and energy. You'll get stuff like "oh haha we're here for a wedding" or "oh I love that bar" or "we have just been here...", or " haha I just though the same thing" or "sneaky? um.. that doesnt very sound good.."

It really doesnt matter what is said, just dont say anything weird. So no "you look pretty" no "what's up b*tch", no "you come here often??" None of those are natural conversation. In fact no high pitched questions at all really: "so do you like this place??" That's a No. Also, anyone here talking about cring doesn't know what's up, period. You can literally say "I seriously just almost sh*t a brick" and then make up some reason and pull it off. For example, "I literally almost sh*t a brick when you laughed a second ago, you almost tossed your drink in that girl's hair, for real" and point to some random girl. She might not have even been laughing, it really doesn't matter, it's all just the vibe. All is fair to say so long as you don't say anything way, way inappropriate or lame, like, no cheezy lines. No blatent insults. No psycho stuff.

The whole game is going on with the eyes and the energy initially. If you're getting chatty and touchy with one or two then stay, if you are at a peak and your getting almost bored, then make up a reason and bolt. But bolt at a peak, not a lull. See them later, or not, whatever, keep working the venue and all the girls in it. If you are near and one of them notices you later, stroll back in. Or barrel back in if you want. It's all about when you get a good vibe going with one of them and it can happen at any moment, if not, keep being social and working your craft. It's all about having a good time.
